You sound muddled up here;

Infinity stone acquiring Thanos was basically in top shape; he was crafty about getting the stones cos there were top tier people in the way of his plan e.g Odin, Ego. He was brains as well as brawn so knew he could scheme his way to the stones rather than going through vicious battles with virtual gods.

But when it came to battling Avengers he was vastly superior in combat.

The weak, defenseless Thanos that offered no resistance was badly injured from destroying the stones.
I think you are confusing stones collecting Thanos with after match snap Thanos

The weak defenseless was in a state of content. He set out to do what wanted and now accepts the afterlife. Furthermore notice how he never noticed Captain Marvel getting the drop on him. Which illistrate a weaken state.

We're at the point where character depth is a con.
Right. It's like they can't actually have character depth, because that might awaken people a taste for depth in general. They have seriously dumbed down this population in a generation or two.

In the case of IW/Endgame - Yes - Thanos "does it for me" like a motherfucker. Great villain.

However, unlike other movies (good example..Transformers - great action, great villain - but EXCRUCIATING shit dialogue) - this, for me was about the great actors that played these parts, great personal stories, allowing me to connect/care more deeply about their character - thus more impacted by what happens to them, and what they go through.
Infinity War Thanos =/= End Game Thanos

Infinity War Thanos is one of my all-time favorite cinematic villains. He was an actually fully realized and nuanced character and I was really blown away by his portrayal. End Game Thanos is a pro-wrestling heel. He might as well be led to the Infinity Stones by Jimmy Hart.

Did you want him to win again and wipe out the other half of the Universe?

In IW he had a specific, methodical step by step strategy for acquiring the stones. In Endgame, Nebula threw a monkey wrench into those plans and sent Thanos into frantic scramble mode to get them before the Avengers fuck all his plans up.

How would you have liked to see it play out? Suggest a plot.

A lot of people expected him to be more powerful than he ended up being without the stones. He has a laundry list of powers in the comics and they stripped that all away, making him just a big bruiser.
I mean with NO stones he took on Ironman, motivated Thor, and Asgardian Cap simultaneously.

But then was a helpless child against Wanda and had Captain Marvel no-selling his headbutt

Hand-to-hand, he's top notch but as soon as someone brings something else to the table like Wanda or Dr. Strange, he's a can

To lazy to look it up. But is endgame above avatar before it was rereleased into theatres?
I know it didn't make much on the second release.

I’m not a photoshop/meme expert but I put this together.
Grabbed a Tony pic and and got the beginning and end part of his speech

I couldn’t get the print smaller with the app I have so I cut the middle of the speech

A few drinks in and just made it now, so if I screwed up the exact quote, give me some leeway

I was just watching back on yt, the clip of Wanda kicking Thanos's ass!

Quite enjoyed that. <45>

Had an interesting thought. Since all the infinity stones are destroyed and the others are brought back to their original timeline, Dr. Strange won't have the timestone to protect anymore. Wonder how Dr. Strange 2 will incorporate this in the movie.

You saw all the insane shit he was doing in IW without the Time Stone. He's more powerful than in the first movie so he'll just solve whatever issue a different way

Yeh I realize how powerful Thanos is in the comics, but for the sake of practicality... how the hell do you defeat him if he's THAT powerful in the movie. What kind of movie can you make? As it is, it took every super-being on earth to beat him. He's powerful enough. Comic book power would be absurd.

You'd have to round up the top 5 most powerful mcu beings is the history of existence to take him out. That's ridiculous.
That's the problem. Even without the stones comic thanos can beat the avengers. With the stones there should be no combination of heroes that can fuck with him.

Yea he was already learning extremely fast in his own movie. By now he has to be the most powerful one in his organization by far. The supreme leader\ruler or whatever said he would become the most powerful ever.
