Saying “well why don’t they just bring back everyone then?!” Is pretty babyish.

No one said you had to like it, you quoted me saying I was wrong for thinking RDJ will be fun as a villain lol.
Not sure why you are persisting with insults just because we do not share the same view of RDJ as Doom but if that is how you want to roll in Mayberry, I'm your huckleberry and will play too.

Lets WarRoom up this thread.

Your view is fanboy childish. You are putting aside logic and common sense for a man crush on an actor.

You are also a liar. I in NO WAY said you were wrong, as this is a matter of opinion and it is impossible to be wrong.

I CLEARLY stated my opinion "I hate the idea..." as we have people in this thread putting up their hand who like and those who do not.

What is absolutely true is you think opinions that do not agree with yours should not be stated, and that you will then lie about people who hold differing opinions to you. Those are both sad.

Relax, ya big baby.

Be real though, you have to understand that for most people, reusing actors is just lazy and lame, but it seems like the MCU has finally learned that they’ve lost the general population, so might as well cater to their loyal man child audience.

Most people don’t care, sweaty nerds do.

It seems like most people in this thread (and most people on the internet) are questioning this casting.

Judging by your reaction to a completely mediocre Deadpool movie though, you probably eat to whatever the MCU shits out these days.

You are the exact kind of person they are targeting with the RDJ casting. Someone who worships every phase 1 character/actor, and gets hard at the very thought of them returning.

lol I hadn’t watched a movie or show since No Way Home.

Again, sweaty nerds.

Me: It might be fun to see RDJ do a heel turn.

Sweaty nerds: *the biggest ACKCHUALY*

It’s a comic book movie ffs lol.

It is part of a huge franchise, not just a comic book movie.

What is overlooked among the major announcements is the small detail that screenwriter Stephen McFeely is coming back for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. He along with partner Christopher Markus were responsible for Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War and Endgame. This is good news because those four MCU films I mentioned were amazing and that he is replacing the Rick and Morty writers. I would feel more confident though if his partner Markus was also involved but overall this is a step in the right direction.

Cillian Murphy would be my number one choice to play MCU Doom. There would also be a nice synchronicity to the casting, given he and RDJ starred in Openheimer.
Cillian might be universally, unanimously, accepted as one of the tippity top choices for Doom fan casting. i’m honestly surprised they didn’t snatch him up the second he won his oscar

Damn I guess I'm the only one who's disinterested in a Doctor Doom saga, especially after all of the butchering from those fantastic four cheese movies

Voted 'Interesting.'

If there were rumors about it before the actual announcement I would have disregarded them as stupid, but now that its actually happening I can look at it from another perspective because Disney is willing to pay RDJ's pricetag to get him back in the MCU.

I don't think RDJ is like Harrison Ford and just doing the MCU roles just for a paycheck, for RDJ there's a respect he has for the MCU for revitalizing his career and multiplying his net worth many times over compared to what it would be without it.

He won't be Tony Stark as a villain, he's a versatile actor with range, so he'll know exactly what to do to transform into a completely different character... which will have just as much likeability and charisma as his performance as Tony Starkand we all know actors have more fun playing villains anyway.

If I was a Fantastic Four fan (and I'm not) I would he hyped that 21 years of embarassing movies... finally, there's a high-percentage possibility that a good adaptation of my favorite franchise is going to be done.

I'm a strong "no". It's a stunt, and Disney should be looking forward, not back.

Want to make this a seperate post because I'm just spitballing a major idea here... but in that first Avengers movie they're going be introducing DrDoom as a major villain, but every 'major villain' will always be compared to Thantos.

So what can DrDoom do establish he's as big, if not bigger of a threat, then Thantos?

Right now Disney has ALOT of characters they're not planning to continue their movie series... The Eternals, Shang-Chi, Antman, TheMarvels... and whenever there's a new 'Big Bad' in new movies the question will be asked 'Hey, where is _______? Why aren't they responding to this attack that may destroy the City/Planet/SolarSystem/Universe/Multiverse?'
Well, in this case all of those characters that Disney... and audiences...has no interest in should respond... and DrDoom kills them all.

If you think that sounds stupid, if someome asked me 'what is the most emotionally gripping moment in all of the MCU?' I would answer Infinite War's Thantos Snap, and we watch so many loved characters disintigrate into dust before our eyes. But that was because audiences cared so much about the characters who were killed off, like Spiderman & Black Panther.

Everybody has a bad gut feeling to the quote - "Mr Stark, I don't feel too good."

Now this would be different because audiences don't have the same attatchment to Shang-Chi or The Eternals as they did for Spider-man or Black Panther, but this would be a way for Marvel to.... take out the trash and out it alongside the curb... while establishing a new villain as a major threat.

And unfortunately, its pretty well established at this point the only way to make it clear a new villain is a threat is by killing off characters. Beating the shit out of Hulk ain't going to cut it.

So, I honestly don't know if this is a 'prediction' or 'theory' but if there's announcements of those kind of characters returning, that's a big hint.

Why isn't he? Was there a falling out? Seems very odd that they wouldn't move heaven and Earth to get him back if they're getting everyone else back.

I love the idea of RDJ coming back but I'm not really thrilled with him playing Dr Doom. There's so many better choices they could have gone with. (Not because RDJ is bad, but because he is Iron Man. Putting him in the Doom role just screams "hey look, we're desperate!")

Granted, after the atrociously abysmal Phase 4 movies and tv shows, they should feel that way. But still, I'd rather RDJ came back as a variant Iron Man than anything else.

Hopefully the rest of the OG Avengers come back. At least Thor, Cap (the real Cap), and Hulk. (Not the shitty current Hulk, but the classic savage Hulk)

He does not care about stardom so he can just say no.
