Aussie rock appreciation thread

I expected some comment like this ;) bit surprised though every time as we are probably 99% into the same stuff in the Psych/Rock section - King Gizzard seem to be that 1% :D
Must be in their arrangements, they just suck

Hadn't heard this song since I was a teenager. Heard it again a few months ago and realised it's got a great sound. My taste went full 180 on it. I've been listening to it heaps ever since.

Funny how nobody here mentioned the Sydney psych band of the 60s Missing Links

Did you go for work ? Yes, the Whitlams are quite an unknown band - they have a very demanding band name :):):)

Wolfmother did change OZ rock for the better.. ...listen to the rock band from Melbourne ....Airbourne :) ....live at Wacken

I saw these guys in a tiny venue in Oakland last year and they rocked it like it was an arena. Fucking awesome show I'll always try to make an Airbourne show when they are in my area.

AC/DC are Australian ?
Angus and the boys were born in Scotland , but their respective families soon moved to NSW Australia and the lads grew up in Sydney, so that makes them Australian 100%. Brian Johnson was born in Scotland too, but didn't live in OZ as long as Bon , Angus and the boys. There's a huge Scottish community in OZ and some of my best mates are Scottish :):)

No worries mate ! I'm a trueblue from the South Coast of NSW - born and reared :):)
I met Bon Scott when he was in the Valentines a Sydney - based pop band doing the high school circuits :):)

A rather obscure psych band from Adelaide South Australia called Tamam Shud (which means "is finished" or "it's over" in ancient Persian). The band name is in reference to a mysterious male body washed up on an Adelaide beach in 1948; the death was a mystery for 70 years when the BBC stated the mystery of the unidentified body was solved in 2022 (but that's another story :))

Johnsons a geordie not a scot, hence why his previous band was called Geordie (all the members were from the Durham/Newcastle area of England)

Could be, but all the books say he was born a Scot :)
