Elections Aussie Federal Election ; Who are you voting for?

It definitely appears that your political culture skews right, similar to the United States'.

But at least with having multiple parties situated across the spectrum - as it appears to me, it's a left party (Greens), a centrist party (Labor), and then three center-right parties (I have no idea the policies that distinguish any and would probably label one or many as right-wing if I did) (Liberal, National, and Liberal National) - you can have hope of organizing to resolve issues without them being cock blocked by single-issue hold-ups. For instance, in the United States, 70% of the population wants to reform campaign finance, protect the environment, and move left on healthcare, but half of them will never, ever vote in favor of those issues because it would require them to vote for a party they perceive to be lustful, infanticidal black supremacists.

Our parties are sorted roughly like this:

Far left: Greens
Center left: Labor
Center right: Liberal (and National who are slightly further to the right, representing country instead of city)
Far right: A lot of dispersed parties that change every year, not a lot of consistency

Compared to the US the major parties would be broadly considered socialist; both support significant welfare (relative to the US), market intervention/regulation, etc., and while the Liberal party does have an overtly religious overtone it is a tiny, tiny fraction of what you see in the US.

Movement in more recent years has shown a growing disaffection for the major parties and more minor party voters - whether this is good or bad is up to the individual voter.
