For a heavyweight this isn’t much of a highlight reel.
I said, no one has that combination of the things together. Exp;losive, one-punch knockout power, speed with the ability of being able to move like a middleweight despite weighing nearly 260 lbs. Again, 100% I stand by what I said. No one else I have seen has that combination of all-in-one like he does. I have seen Ubereem having the explosiveness, speed and power, but he did not have the one-punch knockout power that Aspinall has where he simply touches his opponent like Pavlovich and the opponent is flatlined.
Stipe did his title run better than Tom.
Shane Carwin had the Touch of death vibe he doesn’t have. So did Francis.
JDS had way better boxing combos and footwork than Tom.
He doesn’t defy physics and he moves okay for a heavyweight but it’s not like Brock Lesnar type speed with a muscle mass.
Cain Velasquez made it look better with a more dominant run. That’s even including that JDS KO he ate. He came back better.
Toms really is just a solid OK UFC fighter. His best strength is he just has a couple quick wins over 3 sub par opponents and one decent opponent.
Shane Carwin did the same thing. Except he knocked out more opponents than Tom has in a shorter time frame.
I also wouldn’t say Tom hasn’t faced the murderers row or something like Stipe did. His best 2 wins weren’t definitive they were arguing TKO ref stoppages where the opponent was arguing with the ref.
Tom is just a punchers chance heavyweight with some decent grappling and submission skills and a quick quitter mentality to maintain the aspect of a fair fight in a weak UFC division. After watching the last fight his boxing isn’t as sharp as it should be and he has terrible defensive mistakes.
I mean he’s .. Okay I guess.. I’m not like looking for a YouTube video for a highlight reel of his fight after it’s done or saving his fight date excited he is on a UFC card. He can’t even block an open palm strike to the face without acting like a soccer player selling a foul.
