Asakura, Pico, Patchy Mix

Patchy talked the most shit and showed up to fight the least

Anyone can lose. Takes a special kind of jackass to be a complete asshole about it and then lose via being a walking punching bag and make zero adjustments.

Aaron Pico struck me a fairly humble and respectful.
And he came to fight.

These guys have rough starts in the ufc and they are victims if their own success. They get paid big so they get thrown in the deep end, often against highly experienced ufc vets.

For real though, Murphy most valuable underdog of the year last night, insane he was underdog made good money off him.

Pico can fight Pitbull next spring/summer if Pitbull loses in France.

No sense even thinking about booking Pico for a fight until at least February, his brain needs time to recover.

Patchy was the worst because he completely froze.
Those other two fighters at least put up a fight.

Well, you're fucking dumb because Pico got starched and Asakura got submitted by a bum.
Pico was winning until he got knocked out and Tim Elliot competed against Mighty Mouse. Patchy Mix just stood there. Are you sure you knew what YOU were asking in your thread? I am dumb, because you are unclear on the thread YOU made? Typical Sherdog. You are inept and scatterbrained. I could name a litany of other things, but I'll just laugh.

I am not gonna take too much away from Pico. He looked pretty good for what we saw before the KO and got caught with a rare shot. And Murphy is a top contender on a big streak. I think Pico has potential to do quite well. Mix and Asakura, I just don't think they're high level guys, I can't see them being contenders.

Asakua and Mix haven't looked good. Pitbull won his second and now is got a fight with Keita. Pico we'll see his next fight, I think they shoud do Pico vs Barbosa next.

I had no real hopes for Patchy, Pico, or Pitbull.

Patchy looked like crap in his last Bellator fight and won a robbery. It was clear he wasn't UFC level.

Pitbull wasn't even doing that great before they signed him. His last 3 before signing, he got KOd by a guy who fights low level guys, decisioned by Pettis, who isn't really great, and then he beat a low level guy. And he was old when they got him.

Pico had never fought anyone decent.

OP gotta omit guys like MVP & RDR?! Come on lol. Only messin.

That said I do hope Pico, Patchy, & esp Kai get another shot. Kai is 0-2 and that’s almost always a guaranteed cut from the company.

I wish ufc gave more 0-2 fighters that third chance. If i recall Merab started his ufc career 0-2 and has not lost since.

Asakura ( in this last fight ) and Pico were competitive at least.

You can see how they can have good careers even if they won't be the best.

But asakura did get beat by an older guy.

Pico looked good just got caught by being too aggressive

Yeah, you must not be thinking too straight. Who cares if Tim Elliot competed against Mighty Mouse 9 years ago? It's 2025. Pico got wobbled multiple times before he got fed to the canvas.

You're the only one here having a major problem discussing the topic. I actually asked multiple questions. So you can't put more than one thought together...typical is right.

One guy got starched, one guy got submitted twice, and one guy couldn't get out of first gear. I wonder which of these outcomes are worse than the others? And please stop trying to tell me what my intent was in making this thread. You just want people to agree with you, not everyone does.

I forgot MVP, but he's been in the UFC for almost 2 years now. RDR is doing way better than I expected, he's definitely the best recent "champ from another org" signing by far.

I haven't given up hope on Pico or (especially) Mix just yet. Kai, I don't know. I don't think they'll cut him just yet.

Also Jiri came from Rizin and did really well

I'm talking about these recent signings.
ok but if we are just talking about three guys in a recent time period, it's just not really that big of a deal.

Yeah, really it was just about those three. I left Pitbull out because his UFC run seems more like a "bucket list" thing than anything else. He'll have a few more fights and probably retire.

It's all in the names. In hindsight, nobody should've trusted guys named "Patchy Mix" and "Pico" to do much of anything as UFC fighters. Those names sound like what middle school middle-class suburbanite boys make up to sound "hardcore" and "gangsta".

Kai Asakura, Patchy Mix and Pico were either champs from other orgs and/or heavily hyped signings but laid eggs in the UFC. Who looked the worst so far? Who has a better future in the UFC? I'm leaving Pitbull out of this since he's past prime and no one really had big expectations for him at this stage of his career, plus he did get a ranked win in his second UFC appearance.

I had high hopes for Mix and Pico, but they both had horrible UFC debuts, but I'm not ready to give up on them just yet, they're still young and can bounce back, but Pico's chin and poor defense will always be a problem. He'd get KO'd by a gust of wind while walking out of the tunnel if it even grazed his chin. Mix might have just had an off night, or a bad weight cut or something. I still think they can do something good eventually.

Kai Asakura is 0-2 now and just lost to a 38-year-old journeyman that was supposed to be a layup. Granted, Kape started his UFC career 0-2 but those were close decisions. Kai got finished twice, first by the champ, then by a guy with 13 losses coming off an almost 2-year layoff. Kind of a waste giving this guy a title fight for starters.

Who should these guys be matched up with? I can't see them being fed absolute bums at this point.

UFC might as well do Pico vs Pitbull next, instead of that French guy.
and Pitbull too

Tim is a tricky customer, if matchmakers were hoping to push Kai, they fucked up.
