Should Artem Vakhitov have signed the UFC contract?

Who cares. I'm already tired of this whole Pereira/Adesanya saga and everyone else involved. This isn't really UFC related either. I wish they would just merge all these redundant Pereira spam threads.

“We have sent letters to UFC matchmakers [to inform] that Artem is free agent, to Mick and Sean, to see what they will answer to us. Let’s see what ONE Championship will answer,” he said. “Also, we have good opportunities to get fights locally in Russia in different rules, to continue in kickboxing and also to debut in MMA. Last few years, we also got good offers from boxing. … Boxing might not be a smart story [right now], but everything depends on contract clauses and contract things, depends on how much they are ready to offer.”

Signing with ONE FC would be the safest and he'd get to feast while being hyped as the best Kickboxer on the planet.

Signing with the UFC would most likely get him the Jacoby treatment of being slowly built up since his high guard might make all of his fights close even in wins

Signing with Bellator would be suicide because they'd pair him up with Phil Davis or another insanely athletic high level wrestler first fight since Coker is a bit of a moron...... or they'd feed him cans until he's out of prime like they might've done with MVP.

his defense was very glove reliant
nonetheless very talented, he chewed alex legs so hard

I'm surprised he turned UFC down. I swear I read something after he was cut from Glory that he wanted a UFC contact.

You know Glory pays nothing in comparison to what UFC pays right? If they do, why are they losing most their talent to fight in MMA?
If you’re a champion or big name you get very good money.
GLORY paid their fighters a total of €1.625 million for their last event (9 fights on the card).
I assume Badr and Reem took the lion’s share of that money though. Also, this number doesn’t include PPV-points. A guess what PPV numbers Collision 4 did? The event was the lone big combat sports event that weekend so I guess a lot of MMA/boxing fans tuned in aswell.

Curious if he can make more kickboxing than in MMA? If he signed with One he could still kickbox at least. Would love to hear the dude's thoughts about his choice.

I'm still pissed they cut Doumbe after that France shit. That guy trains MMA and is a fucking animal. Glory world champ. KSW has him now.

I dont think they do have him, he's got a fight in another org coming up and people were saying the KSW shit wasnt true or something. Who knows what the story is there but did just see his next fight aint in KSW.

ufc paid Alex (a legit world class kickboxer) 40k to fight Michailidis lol
400k*
I remember Dana bragging about a prelim fighter on UFC 268 getting paid 400k (around the time Dana was getting shit for fighter pay).
Obviously he was talking about Pereira..

The former GLORY Kickboxing LHW-champion turned down offers from UFC and ONE Championship after GLORY terminated his contract.

@Yodsanan

He now signed with Russian promotion “MuayThai Factory” and is set to debut in December.

Artem Vakhitov and Alex Pereira went 1-1 in GLORY, switching the LHW-belt in two very close fights.
Here is the highlight video of both titlefights combined:

Good move? Or should Vakhitov have signed with UFC to chase Pereira like Poatan chased Izzy and continue the rivalry?

Discuss..

Good for him, I guess.

If it makes him a big star in Russia, I see no issues with it.

There is more than one way to skin a cat, as they say.
