News Arman Tsarukyan and Diego Lopes UFC 300 pay has been withheld by NSAC following event-incidents

Cheers to you sir. These are two very informative posts.

IIRC, UFC pays all the purses upfront into an escrow account controlled by the commission. After the fights are completed, the commissions distribute the pay. There's most likely something in the contracts or licenses where fighters agree to the fee structure of whatever commission is sanctioning the card, and I believe any fines go directly to the commissions.

Arman fined $31,600, Diego fined $5,000 that apparently Dana said he'd pay.

Lopes literally signaled to Dana that he was jumping the fence to talk to him, and Dana seemed to give him the go ahead. Fuck NSAC.

Assaulting a fan who didn't touch you should be a least a year suspension tbh. The Lopes situation on the other hand is silly, give the man his money.

Well I can understand them trying to keep control of fighters. Can't allow them to willy nilly jump the cage as they please. Could get hurt, could do a Flying Eagle or whatever. Fighters are told to not even get up and sit on the cage much less jump over it.

Fuck them for that sir.
Sitting on the cage is like a right of passage after a win.

You can say anything you want but heaven forbid you sit on the cage....smfh.

Just let them jump over the cage to celebrate, wtf is this shit.
It's a security issue. I understand why they don't want them to do it but leave Lopes alone bruh

You're a fuckin security issue...but yes, definitely leave Lopes alone lol.

What's the procedure for that anyways?
If they decide they won't get paid, what's happening with the money?
Does the UFC just get to keep it? Does it go to the commission? Does it go to the fighters but then they are fined the total amount?

This is such a weird regulation. Of course fighters should be accountable for their actions, but any person can be persecuted if they commit a crime like let's say punch a stranger in the face.
If a carpenter punches someone in the face while on the job, how in the world would that make it possible for his employer to withhold his pay?
If the UFC fighters are indeed contractors from a legal standpoint, how the flip is it possible that a third party steps between the parties of the contract and stops a payment for a service that has very clearly taken place as contractually agreed upon..
If an employee of mine punches a stranger while on the job, I am getting sued. If anything they should hold that money if whoever that idiot punched presses charges, it will go to a settlement at the very least.

How much was mcgregor fined or salary withheld for throwing a dolly through the bys window and affecting an entire card, can't remember..

Everybody jumps over the cage, that's ridiculous. Makes sense for Arman tho, can't punch a guy in the face just because he gave you the middle finger.

After every event these commissions will release official base purse numbers, so one can assume the money is being handed over to NSAC prior to each event via the promotion.

Where the money goes is a difficult question to figure out imo. As of 2016 NSAC is self funding through the various fees they charge event promotions. But do they get to keep all the money for themselves to pay for Friday Pizza parties? Very likely id say

How is it possible for them to stop a payment between two different parties? You can't get a license to fight without agreeing to these terms. Check out NRS 467.158

He wasn't fighting on that card so there was no pay to withhold

Arman Tsarukyan is legit the most unlikeable person to have ever lived and should have all his pay given to the fan he assaulted and then cut from the UFC forever and his win overturned to a loss to Charles so Charles wins and gets an immediate title shot and redemption.

This would only be the start of his punishment tbh.
These Oliveira fans' tears are so delicious.
