Media Ariel Vs. Schaub Mega Thread

Ariel is a dude who started an MMA fan podcast and ended up working for some of the biggest media companies on the planet. Most of the big name MMA writers and commentators who were around a decade ago are working in completely different fields now.

Schaub is only where he is as a talking head because Rogan gave him charitable exposure. If the guy had come up on his own, nobody would've ever hired him for anything. Literally any random poster on MMA YouTube videos has better insight into the sport than Schaub does.

When a person apologizes, and the person that receives the apology says "No...you did not really mean it....it was not sincere', and then escalates it even, that is some bitch shit. Schaub apologized, tried to de-escalate, but Ariel wants to keep this going. From my POV, Ariel is the one on the bitch shit now.

And sure, Rogan helped Schaub out, but how did Schaub make it into Rogan's circle to begin with? How did he make it to the UFC? Did Rogan do that? Did Rogan make him Shane Carwin's sparring partner or have a winning record in the UFC, choke out Mitrione and KO Cro Cop? Schaub has hustle, work ethic, and that can not be denied. Make all the critiques of Schaub you want, but make sure they are valid.

If he really did knife Helwani in the back, keep it about that, not insulting him because he never had a UFC title, which by extension is insulting to all the fighters that come to his podcast that do not have titles. Schaub could have made this way more personal like Ariel, but he has not yet. Unlike Schaub, Ariel never got in there and risked anything - heck, he would not even grapple Schmo for charity - but he still makes money off these fighter's blood, sweat and tears while talking out of both sides of his mouth and grifting off of drama.

Ariel has changed alot over the past few years, his ego is growing out of control and he is beefing with dozens of people, and it is not very becoming from where I am sitting. When you have a problem with so many people yet blame everyone but yourself, 'we call that a clue'.

Not really. Not a fan of Ariel or Schaub, but he's addressing Schaub directly, and not fighters in general. From what I've gathered, Schaub has been taking shots at Ariels career as a journalist, so in turn he opened that door to criticism of Schaub's pursuits as a footballer, fighter and comedian.

Nah, dude now has pretty much free reign and no real censorship now and has his usual old show that does just fine. Seems better to me than having corporate cucking all the time and not being able to freely express yourself.

Where is Schaub taking shots at Ariel publicly? I have not seen it. I have seen Ariel taking public shots at Brendan and Ariel even saying his text apology was 'not sincere'. That is literally angry ball busting girlfriend type stuff "you don't mean it....and by saying I do not accept your apology I have carte blanche to keep bitching at you".

And yes, he was directly addressing Schaub, but his insult was 'the UFC did not work out for you because you never won a title and went 6-5 in the HW division'. By extension, that is insulting to 98% of everyone in the UFC, as so few will ever become champion. Having a winning record in the UFC, and heavyweight of all places - the place where 3 wins in a row is enough to earn a title shot, means you made it.

And not sure how the podcast criticism makes sense either - again, Schaub made it there. Food Truck diaries and FATK have been very successful. Ariel did this with Schmo too, and basically said he was trash because he was not as popular as Ariel. It reeks of elitism and snobbery. The guy has problems with everyone now - Schaub, Rogan, UFC, Cejudo, Ali, Luke, Callen, Schmo etc - it sound like Ariel is slipping, quite frankly, and giving credibility to the rumors that he is hard to work with and an egotistical jerk.

It is not hard to find footage of Brendan taking shots at the MMA media. He is pretty much working the same circuit now since he is retired. Schaub has this I been through the fire so I can understand the other fighters more mentality than these basement losers but yet he steals content/analysis from other people working the circuit.
This is the type of apology Brendan gives. He sends someone to squash it with the person. Instead of talking about the person; he then talks about how mma media people are losers.

Say what you will about Schaub, but Ariel is stupid for saying this. So just because you did not win the title or the super bowl, you are a failure?
Getting into the NFL and the UFC is an incredible feat and worthy of respect regardless of what you think of him as a person. Ariel should know this and sounds like a damn casual for saying it

It was over and a guy on twitter posted a clip from Schaub recent show slating mma media and indirecting ariel.
So loads of people tagged ariel in the post.

Then why insinuate he was a failed MMA fighter because he never won a title and a failed podcaster and Youtuber? Those are not valid at all. Schaub had a lot of success n the UFC, KO'd Mirko even, and his Fighter And The Kid and Food Truck Diaries are very successful.

When people get triggered, they get light switch brained, and they will make baseless claims that are simply untrue = that then makes all their criticisms seem unreliable. And this beefing with Ariel is not just with Schaub, he beefed with Luke Thomas, Schmo, Cejudo and more - he has alwaya been a hit stirrer, but this ego Ariel is new. Schmo was even being nice to him and Ariel was a total dick, and basically said Schmo was a pleb because he was not as popular as Ariel. That is some Jon Jones vs Tyson Griffin type ego shit, not a good look at all.

Schaub is unfunny who has Rogan privilege, but Ariel is being a bitch here. Pointing out Ariel is being an ego driven bitch, who is picking fights with everyone, does not make a fan of Schaub.
