Interesting to see another topic where the WR is disproportionately represented by a group.

I never understood this and no one every has a good answer. The best idea that the Christian God could come up with to communicate his message to the world was to impregnate a virgin in a very isolated village in the middle east, have that child grow up for 30+ years and deliver some speeches, then perform a human sacrifice to help resolve a problem he created. Sorry, but that just stupid and to me and obviously created by bronze age man. Especially when you put in in the context of trying to fulfill previous Jewish prophecy of the messiah.

The only answer I ever get is basically "God works in mysterious ways". I don't accept that answer.

No, science can't do anything for you after you die.
And neither can religion.
There is no "you" after you die. That's the very meaning of death.

And it can't do anything for the "soul", either.
Mostly because the soul is a made-up religious concept with no basis in reality.

Aging can likely be cured , its probably just a matter of time , so there may well be something science will be able to do for you.

Probably that this " he " actually exists , seems a good start to me .
 
Tough question, for the most part I follow the teachings of Jesus but to me Christianity is full of hypocrisy and I don't go to church. It's awkward calling myself a Christian because while I do believe in Jesus I feel like the standard "Christian" beliefs in society don't mesh well with the actual teachings of Jesus. So, I'll go spiritual but not religious.

Have you prayed to Him? I tell you God has spoken to me more times than I remember and answered mores prayers than I can remember.

God uses so many ways to speak to me. Sometimes a still small voice, dreams, sometimes scripture, sometimes a sermon... It's really quite awesome and it's a process. Learning to trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding.

Dead serious man. A whole new world has opened up this past year. You know last year I believed in Jesus, believed in God but was really quite carnal and just you know- just kinda wandering.

It's really been an incredible year for me this past year and I hope pray I keep continuing to grow as a Christian cause it's so easy to backslide and I have so much more to change as I struggle with sin so much

Keep on keepin on man. I hope everything continues on the positive path for you but my life has taken the same path without god so...

We can attribute positivity to whatever we want. You attribute yours to god I attribute mine to a new broom I just bought

Thanks man. If you ever come to a point where you say, 'is this all there is?' Just remember Jesus has the living water that everyone is seeking but can't find outside of Him.

The thing about it is that I came to that point around 15 years ago. I thought, is the christian god all their is? A relative of mine gave me some books to read and things to watch and i was struck by the amount of information out there that had nothing to do with a god and it made so much more sense to me. I'm confident that I will never turn back to the christian god and I have been without him for 15 years and my life is never better.

The grass was and is greener. I now have to take responsibility for my own actions instead of pawning them off on a deity

O, please don't be sorry. Be happy that I escaped the stranglehold of religion. Be happy that I was liberated and found a whole new world available to me which is based in science and reason. Be happy that when my daughter gets old enough to ask me about the world I can teach her the evidence and teach her that it's ok to say I don't know, go look for yourself.

And please be happy that I have found the ability to take life's challenges head on and for what they are instead of leaving everything in a deity's hands. We are in control and that my friend is the most beautiful part of it all. - Take care

I respectfully disagree- you are not in control and you will find out that is truth even in this life time.

**edit** I should state your in control how you respond to situations but you have no control over the situations you will face- if that makes sense
