Are you convinced that McGregor had an injured ACL vs Mendes?

At first I didn't believe it and thought he was just talking himself up, but looking back at that fight and then watching the Aldo fight, you can see that McGregor is a LOT more fluid in those 13 seconds vs Aldo than he was during the Mendes fight. That back and forth movement is impressive and he was getting in and out of striking range very quickly.

Obviously. He is the goat. Goat wouldn't let himself get tagged that much without a injury.

Him being injured has been confirmed by just about everyone on his team. I seriously doubt they would lie considering he won the fight. what reason would there be to lie? Especially since he is coming off of a major acl surgery. It's not at all unlikely than a re-injury would take place.

Already had Major acl surgery - check. Re-injuries are very likely - check. End of story.

He looked way loose before the Aldo fight the way he was moving around. He looked nothing like that before, and during the mendes fight.

The rumour was out there prior to the fight and he was very flat-footed during it, so yes.

I do. I don't believe it was 80% or whatever arbitrary number he threw out there, but he looked sickly and unwell during fight week for that one. Movement aside, he just looked much healthier in the Aldo fight.

I believe that his camp was hindered and he wasn't really healthy but went through with it anyway and had a tougher fight than he expected.

Torn ACLs don't heal. If he had such injury back then, he still has it now.

I would be inclined to believe him. Guys are rarely 100% coming into a fight, and his history of knee problems makes it seem likely. Fighting with injuries is normal.

It will be interesting to see if there is a noticeable difference in the way he moves against RDA, and in future fights as well. It would be a shame if McGregor ends up being limited by serious/chronic knee problems.

Lol did anyone even take that report by Kavanaugh seriously?

I thought we already established it as Kavanaugh blowing smoke like usual, but hey whatever

He looked shit on the ground against Dave Hill and he looked like he hadn't improved since then.

So no, I don't believe his grappling is top ten calibre.

You can tell the difference in 13 seconds?

No... Just watch the embedded series. Conor kicking fluid and fast

From what I can see it's not so much that it was injured at the time of the fight, but that he could not do much to train for the vast majority of the camp.

Yes, you gave the reason yourself. His timing was off, at least on his sprawls, given that he was not able to train much wrestling.
Mendes had his own issues though. Here's the context of that fight, based on a thread of mine a few weeks back:

Chad Mendes:
  • Chad scored 3 of 4 takedowns attempts in rnd 1 and passed guard twice.
  • Chad scored 1 of 3 takedown attempts in rnd 2 (no guard passes).
  • There were no submission attempts (accoring to FightMetric. I remember one guillotine attempt though).
  • Mendes took the fight on 2 weeks notice (and was not training in between camps)
  • McGregor had an 80% ACL tear 14 weeks before the Mendes fight and couldn't drill wrestling during camp. He didn't do sparring as well. [Source:here and here]
  • Mendes suffered a broken thumb in the first round of the fight. [Source]
  • According to Faber, Mendes broke his foot 5 days into his two weeks notice. [Source]
