I've always been a natural leader but most people can't get out of the way of their cumbersome egos and settle into the subordinate roles they naturally slot into, and I won't deal with that childishness so my leadership skills go mostly unused, which is fine. I tend to get things done solo because I'm organized, goal driven and work at a fast pace. I also work very well in subordinate roles under strong, competent leadership. I prefer this role the most because it comes with the least amount of headaches, however strong leadership tends to be few and far between now. People just generally have unrealistic opinions of their own capabilities, I find a lot of people simply feel entitled to have a say in things regardless of their competency. In my experience, something like 30-35% of people have a good head on their shoulders and 65-70% don't.
Modern times, leaders tend to lack leadership qualities and more seek those roles simply to attain power, not because it suits them. While many of the natural followers fancy themselves as leaders (so long as they don't actually have to be one) even though they can barely handle whats on their plate. These phones got a lot of people thinking they're something they're not, their confidence is reinforced by artificial, farcical means and they won't be convinced otherwise. At the end of the day I really don't care, people can either get their shit done or they can't. And if they can do it with minimal whining then I can work with them just fine.
