Historically, I am someone who does not seek or enjoy leadership but tends to get put into that role anyways.

follower, it's certainly the easier thing to do, and I'm really good at my job compared to being a department manager (my current position). I also run a two businesses and the fact that it produces revenue at all, I'm happy, but it doesnt mean I'm good at it.

most folks probably receive a w2 check and if you're not the CEO, you're a follower of some kind, and I dont blame them. Often, running a business can make less than W2 wages and it can be a nightmare that makes you broke trying to earn a bit of wealth.

I’m usually qualified to lead, but I don’t like to. Then it also leaves me in a position to question authority when I’m following, which usually causes problems.

That's exactly me. My job is client based (only work 1 on 1) but I'm great at my job plus well versed in other subspecialties so my co workers and even the owners come to me when there's any serious question or problem.

Basically the best of both worlds. I get the respect of a leader but I don't have to lead anything or anybody.

I can be either, depending on the situation.

I can recognize when someone is more qualified to lead in a certain situation than me and also know in others I'm the best person to lead. But either way, no matter what it is I'm leading, I lead from the front and don't expect anyone to do anything I wouldn't do myself.

Like if shit went down and there was an active shooter and the guy next to me is a Navy Seal, I'm doing whatever he says. If the other guys there are you're typical leftist pussies, I'm taking the lead.
