I mean, if you're a farmer, I get it, but damn... I have anywhere from 8-14 people under my roof at any given time and my bank card is ready to have a stroke sometimes. No joke, I wish I had fat kids and grandkids sometimes to at least justify those grocery receipts.
I will say, I am seeing more people getting into gardening at home now. I just scored some old farmland dirt cheap, Was a forested area that was cleared and milled, then used as a meadow and pasture for a hundred and fifty or so years. There are already existing apple trees, but I can't wait until next summer to get to work. Going to be one hell of a bumper crop.

Are we close to an uprising? I would suggest we see just how greedy and power-hungry the 1% get and how poor and oppressed the other 99% get and go from there.
Most people generally can't relate to poverty, but it is ugly and it makes desperate people do shitty things. I don't believe we are past the point where civil unrest is off the table forever as an option (in any country), and I don't think mankind ever will reach that point of civility.
I think we are far closer to a global conflict than we are an uprising breaking out. That being said, I can see an internal uprising starting afterwards because a global conflict has gotten underway first.

Relatively cheap when you factor in average earnings of Americans and what they take home with them when they shop. Other countries pay more and make less than we do. Well, during the “peaceful” no kingz day,
In chicago, of course, you had people giving speeches that told brown people to get a gun and shoot ice agents when they try to stop you and he said that they will only stop when some of them get shot.
Then I have a very far left friend, or had-not quite sure on current status, but she was a defense attorney and we became close friends while working on opposing sides in a criminal battery trial and I followed my heart and poked holes in the “victim’s” story based upon my investigation and the young, slightly lower functioning boy, was acquitted which led to complaints from the cunt mother of the daughter who was struck after she called him the n word and spit in his face and he slapped her across the face. Anyway, we became friends after that because most cops don’t care enough about that aspect of juvenile justice cases.
So, fast forward many years, I see her at the Bernie sanders event and we are chatting and laughing and texting and then she keeps texting me for a few more days and usually, I am just sitting at home or in my office and I answer when I feel like it. Well, she starts sending me videos of ice in dc and somehow the convo goes into 2028 territory and she asked who I will vote for and it is a very loaded question-who’s running I have to ask. And I say if it’s gavin gruesome….its a hell no-I will vote for my two newest kittens Loki and Beans.
She asked why, I tell her the second amendment and she then calls me and every other gun owner an absolute pussy for not going out to challenge ice and the roads using our guns. I kindly reminded her that we don’t have ice in our area and she said she would text me a map with directions to Chicago and give me gas $/so I have her one more chance and told her to drop it. It got nastier, I told her to keep making her “the sky is falling” and anti-trump posts 16 times/day and go out with a no kingz sign every three months when come around and her and the other 100 people that show up are really causing reps to shit their britches.

You know how when someone runs through ten girlfriends/boyfriends and says at the end that they were all the problem and crazy and not good people, but the reality of ten people being the problem versus the one is very unlikely, that's you. We're as close as ever. When billionaires are raping this country, and dumb fucks keep praising them and acting like it isn't an issue, and others can barely live day to day life paying bills and affording food, this can't keep going on.
We're getting to the point where only privileged rich kids can go to concerts, travel, do things that enrich their lives, while everyone else are working 5-7 days a week, overtime, and their wages aren't going up but the prices of everything are. It's not sustainable, and the losers of this would just laugh and act like the poor people aren't working hard enough, not the fact that this country is fucked and caters to the wealthy elite.
Hundreds of billions of dollars is infinite money, and the fact none of these people have tried to help out in any way shows how fucked humanity is.

History is something they don't cover much in schools today. I pick up books for my kid's homeschool and the emphasis are achievements or adversities for women and minorities. They gloss over the brutal nature of humans and our general disposition toward governments.
Fuck, we've got ethnic cleansing happening in several parts of the world, slavery, wealth disparity at an unheard level, unchecked immigration in the west, a new dawn of AI and robotics, governments drowning debt, our entire economy leveraged on shares of stock and hope, 5 of the most influential world leaders fucking up the world catastrophically.
History is filled with moments of great change hinged on far less. If you think this country, birthed from revolution 250 years ago, is immune now you sound a lot like Europeans in the 1930's who were certain they wouldn't have another world war.
Every empire falls. The global boundaries are always shifting. America peaked in the 1990s.
It may not be this decade or even the next. But it's coming.

There won’t be an uprising here though. All the do nothings are being fed while they scream for communism and revolting. Stop feeding them and that could change I guess.
With the amount of wealth in this country, no one should be starving though. I’m not against the safety nets like a lot of the traditional republicans are. I was a democrat for nearly 20 years.

I would have to look at each incident and judge whether it was reasonable or not to “run over protesters.” Doing so on purpose is a criminal act and attempted murder in my opinion-but, we have absolutely seen incidents where violent protests threaten motorists and the protesters were the violent and aggressive ones because they think they own the road to shut shit down. “Who’s streets? Our streets!” said in screeching fucking voices-lol. In 1992, a trucker, Reginald Denny was dragged from his truck cab and beaten with a brick in la in 1992 after Rodney king verdict. In 2020, multiple people were dragged from their vehicles and severely beaten during blm riots. I have no fucking tolerance for assholes that shut down roadways to purposely inconvenience other people-stripping them of their 9th amendment rights, esp silly when they do it on highways and prevent hundreds, if not more, people from being able to freely travel as per their rights. Some assholes 1st amendment rights do not outweigh another persons rights to travel freely. It is dangerous and frustrating for all involved. Look at the blm riot where people took to the highways at night and some girl got killed because she and others ran out to stop vehicles. Fucking stupid shit and it is counterproductive and counterintuitive because it turns more people against your cause.

Largely this. 2 conditions must be met to have a high chance of uprising. 1) The 'have not's' are in sufficient numbers. 2) The potential consequences of a failed uprising are not measurably different than the 'have not's' current state of scarcity, suffering, or oppression. IE- They have nothing left to lose.
The have not's in the vast majority of the first world are not in sufficient number, or in a sufficient state of desperation for uprising to be likely.
