That is debatable, and you'll read a million and one different opinions about it. I personally believe that your head should be kept down, and your arms should go out at a 30(ish) degree angle from your body. I also see a lot of people who do not do a full press, meaning they don't break parallel. I believe that head position is important to remain in perfect posture, but that's my opinion.
IMO, there is most definitely a right way to do push ups, but much like squats, no one seems to do them right.
