Are drop sets for strength or muscle size?

The drop sets technique is one hell of a short and intensity workout for only 1 set. So I decided to use them at the end of my circuit training. 1 set for each muscle group. So my total time of training would be 30 minutes. My question is will it build me size or strength?

It'll build a huge vagina. Besides, that's not what drop sets are.

If you are talking about doing a set to failure, stripping a little weight off fast, continuing to failure, stripping more weight off fast, more reps to failure, etc, that will built anaerobic endurance, and as previously mentioned, a giant gaping vagina.

No, real drop sets are manly and awesome. The "drop sets" the TS is talking about will grow a big gaping vagina

Matt Kroczaleski and Jesse marunde have both done this with squats (500, 405, 315, 225, 135 all x 8 with no rest) I guess they are pussies.

That's bad ass but doesn't seem to be what the TS is talking about. If you did that with "every body part" at the end of the work out you'd kill yourself.

Where is that video of someone awesome doing a squat drop set starting at, I believe, 495?

And Cap'n, when did you go Platinum and why?

That's the one. I forgot it was Kroc. Drop sets like that are not for the squeamish.

WTF is the TS talking about then? That's the only way I've heard of drop sets. And when a few real strong guys use it at TIMES in their training for a specific purpose, its not the same as noobs using it for bench and curls all the time. Whenever I hear drop sets its usually from the latter croud.

edit..that video is not what I'm talking about or what I assumed the TS was talking about. I was talking about when plates are stripped off without racking the bar.

I do a variation of this every time I squat. I work up in weight with fairly low reps because I feel like when I use higher reps I tire my legs out and can't squat as heavy. I usually work up to a weight that is almost as heavy as I can possibly squat and and I do that for 1 or 2 reps. I then work back down the same way I came up but doing alot more reps and just playing around at various weights, maybe doing my body weight 20 times, just something alittle different each time so I dont ever go stale. How do you guys feels about that? Wierd, dumb?

yeah i was talking about stripping weights off and going to failure but only stripping to 2 or 3 times. which combines ABOUT 11 to 15 reps and yes its really painful and exhausting doing full body. I have too laid down after the training or I'll pass out or puke. Its really a horrible feeling but hey what doesn't kill you makes you stronger am I right?:icon_arro

i hope that thigh adductor machine isnt in the ts drop set regimen
