So you want to eliminate a contender..in a division that's already lacking contenders.

Gus lost his first shot. DC looks sharp. Give DC the shot. Let Gus smoke Glover or someone else. Then DC and the Swede for the belt.

Jon quit posting on Sherdog, go back to the gym and work on keeping your fingers out of other fighters eyes....

    I hate this logic.

Yes, we should eliminate contenders (for now). That's how the fight game should work. You fight tougher and tougher guys on your way to the top. Your toughest opponent to date should be the guy you get a TS off of.

This pampering contenders because "the division is weak" bullshit reeks of lame boxing tactics.

It is smart booking by the UFC honestly. Save Gus/DC for when one of them is champion.

Most people were of the view that Gus should have gotten an immediate rematch. Gus deserves the next shot more than anyone else simply because it was such a close fight.

DC has been dominating the HW division and now the LHW. Henderson is no measuring stick but the way he defeated Hendo says a lot about DC. DC is the next in line.

To make GUS and DC fight is not only unfair but stupid in a division that is already weak. Even from the financial viewpoint such a fight would be a suicide. Makes no sense at all.

Gus came close to beating Jones. Gus could have got an instant rematch, however, he didn't and won. Now he gets his rematch. Gus has earned his title shot. Dan, has fought many great fighters, again, deserves a title shot too. Easy rides? what are you talking about

DC needs to prove that he can fight against someone who has such a size at 205 to earn a shot at Jones.

An Gus needs to fight at the very least a top five opponent before he gets a rematch.

So I have a question TS, who should Jones fight in the meantime? if you set dc/gus, then probably the most popular champs sits out for even longer. Yea with the recent stars leaving lets sit the best champ on the shelf for a considerable amount of time. Lord some of these Jones fans are giving us real jones and ufc fans a bad name by being idiots.

How does that make sense when Jones doesn't have a fight scheduled? You'd rather have Jones only fight once this year?

Besides, very few people care about Gus vs DC for now.

Why would one be eliminated? Their career isnt over if they lose.

I too believe DC deserves the shot over Gus. Gus had his shot and lost. DC was top 3 in a bigger weightclass and has proven he can make 205.

What the hell are you talking about? Gus lost. Every major MMA website including Sherdog scored it for Jones. Jones won 3 rounds. He didn't nore doesn't HAVE to give Gus a rematch no matter how close it was. That's why Jones went on and fought someone more dangerous in Glover and beat the skin off that boy at his own game.
