Television ARCANE Season 2 (Premieres Nov. 9)

Some of greatest visual animation i ever seen. Other than maybe Spiderverse it's the best i ever seen. Don't care for making the lead girl gay and hinting at it with the male lead. But the story an ani.ation is so great I don't even care. 9/10 so far

If they make Jace gay that'd piss alot of their audience off.

Jace was exclusively straight is the 1st season - flirting with Kate & sleeping with Mel. Victor was a friend, business partner, and science collegue.

Jace as a councelor position hasn't gone well for him. He's the best decisions he could and the worst happens, including almost the death of Victor and when he 'recovers' he pours his heart to him.

I got the feeling watching that "A woke writer would make them kiss." And thankfully the writer wasn't woke.

Well they made it look like Him an Victor were about to. but with Victor becoming this massively powerful character now they likely don't.

I just rewatched the scene, and there were some odd elements to it like Jace being shirtless with bandages on his upper torso & Victor's line "Our paths diverged long ago. It was affection that held us together."

The emotion didn't imply they were lovers at any point, but that they have a long history as partners in science and business. Jace even refers to Victor as his best friend and they hug twice in the scene. Keep in mind Jace believed him to be on death's door so he's enthusastic about Victor being alive, while Victor isn't because what saved his life and is keeping him alive is the Hexcore... which killed Skye in the previous season, which is what Jace promised him he would destroy. That wasn't the only time we see Skye through Victor's eyes and it makes me wonder if the Hexcore somehow merged their spirits.

So it was pretty obvious Vi was gay in the 1st season, it was questionable if Kate would go along with it, so that kiss wasn't exactly a surprise. If none of that groundwork was laid in the 2nd & 3rd arcs of S1 then that kiss they shared in S2Ep3 would have been completely out of left field and the events after it pretty much dooms the relationship... as of now.

By the way, another complaint about the S2 Arc 1 is the 180 degree character arc that Kate went through... she's a 'sweet' character 'like a cupcake' and the death of her mother she takes naturally hard as all devoted daughters do... but at the end of S2E1 there's a short montage with her mother's voice telling her encouraging words, and its shown her barging into the councelor's meeting and declaring she and a few enforcers are going to go on a hunting party for Jinx... she went from 'Cupcake in mourning' to 'bossgirl' within a few seconds.

Victor's character change seems very natural over many episodes, while Kate's charactet change was within a few seconds of a montage.

I figured Kate . Watching 1 time wife an i looked at each at same time and said " oh fer fucks sake". That said like I .mentioned before even if they do the series is so good I don't care.

What part regarding Kate?
The kiss with Vi, or the 180-degree-montage-into-girlboss?

Adding to this point...

I'm former military, so someone saying "I'm a decorated officer" in a room full of people who give orders to decorated officers.... holds no significance.

In S1 a sheriff was her superior and giving her orders. She may be the leader of her family's house now but that doesn't mean she was given a promotion in her officer ranking.

And she barging into the councilor's office was to serve what purpose? To inform them she and her small group of enforcers were going to hunt down Jinx? Okay... did Kate need their permission? To somehow defy them infront if their faces?

And her demand for very powerful councelors that all have a much higher ranking than her... being told "address me with respect or shut up?"..... um.... very very very stupid move... that somehow worked out for her.

It may seem like I'm nit-picking, but I may have the highest opinion of Arcane S1 than any non-LoL player thats watched it because its story-structure & character arcs are 100% perfect.
Every complaint I have about S1 are nit-picky, and they're few and far-between.

With S2, while still very good, I'm detecting a 'lack of excellence' in the story-structure & character arcs, with larger flaws in S2's Arc1 than I detected in the entirety of S1... which makes me fear for the quality of Arc 2 & Arc 3.

I’m not sure why people are thinking Viktor and Jayce had gay tension, I never got that from any of their scenes. But I’m seeing a lot of people thinking that so I guess I’m the odd one out.

I agree with @GearSolidMetal that the fight scenes are kind of jarring. Not bad or anything, but seems to push a little too far. That’s coming from someone who really liked the fight between Ekko and Jinx.

Really liked the 1st, but was dissapointed by...

...the lack of Jinx.
Though she maintains her mystique by not being in every episode.

But I know when she does make an appearance, the audience reaction will be...

Yup.
The music video montage & adderall pacing... dampens my interest. I feel cheapens a good story with good overlapping themes. There's a blending of classic archetypal story in an isolated, cynical world with a rise in metamodern complexity, that I dig...but the continuous musicvideo & methed up sequencing... makes it feel more plastic for me.

Plenty of other homosexual characters in the League of Legends lore. As far as I know Jayce loves the pussy.

They want to get the gays and the straights on board for a new series, do one with Miss Fortune, Graves and Twisted Fate. One chick with massive tits and two dudes who are gay in the lore.

The story is falling apart imo. The visuals are great but the ‘boss girl’ shit and the weak story are getting over saturated imo.

Season 1 was really well executed and a lot of the characters motivations (for the most part) were believable and mostly understandable.

Now there’s less balance to the show. Most of the male characters are either weak, stupid, or side characters to some boss chick. Jinx is reduced from a tinderbox of emotion and psychotic break to a sad lonely character who’s moping around and being angry once in a while. There’s none of the imminent threat and danger present in these 1st few episodes with her that the 1st season built up and left off with.

They also seem to be trying to play her up now as a character you can sympathize with -never mind the fact she’s responsible for the deaths of a shit load of innocent people- this show has no balls. The writing isn’t daring at all like it seemed to be in the 1st season.

They’re avoiding going full blown villain with Powder which was one of the standout characters in season 1. They’ve even fallen back on cliche type shit by having something dumb happen right when Vi has the upper hand on her.. never mind the fact that Jinx didn’t hesitate to try and land a killing blow on Vi several times during their fight scene.

The writing to me is all over the place. It’s starting to come off like they don’t know where they want to go with these characters and story lines. Like a band that has its entire life to write its 1st album so they throw everything they have into it only to struggle to reach the same creative peak when they have to follow it up. That’s where I’m at with this atm

And, the soundtrack is complete dogshit.
