Lol he will lose badly. Askren cant box. Simple as that. Every talented athlete with 2-3 years of amateur boxing would smoke him. Jake Paul is an athletic guy in his prime, who has trained somewhat like a pro. He is gonna smoke Askren. Some people just cant do certain movements. Askren cant punch and box. He will never be able to.

Paul is a 1/10 boxer a young amateur lion would kill him.

there's a reason he prefers to fight with failed basketball players, not real amateur boxers.

Askren is a proven winner and a professional combat athlete. He will not get tired.

Paul will gas himself out and get frustrated. Askren is already in his head, and Paul is shook.

Askren never had to rely on his striking only. Different conditioning. Askren is also highly likely to start gassing in the stand up. Gloves are heavier in boxing and he was already gassing in a stand up mostly fight with 4oz gloves vs Maia. It wasn't a very high pace or high volume striking match and he was already gassing. People confuse the difference with conditioning in terms of grappling vs striking, especially with boxing pacing/volume/intensity/timing.

This made for an odd thread with many people saying of course askren wins he’s a fighter. Ben has absolutely miserable stand up. And I mean miserable. I mean I guess he could win but it won’t be because he’s a better boxer. It will just be because he’s faced way more adversity than Paul and has a track record of overcoming that adversity. So I don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion that Askren gets beat but it’s a boxing match and the man can’t strike. He doesn’t even have decent mma striking.

the closer this fight approaches, the less confident I am in Askren having any real chance of winning. I've heard the likes of Chael and a couple of others say that Askren will win by virtue of "being a competitor" but I don't buy that.
Yes , he's a competitor - a former competitor, who happens to not only be retired, but 36 years old, coming off of hip surgery and he's inconveniently competing in a sport he happens to be absolutely horrendous at.

So what's this competitor stuff? He's not gonna die in there? He's gonna survive eating punches until Jake gasses and then beat him up in the clinch? Idk about all that.

Look, Jake Paul is a clown and nothing would be more glorious to witness on screen than to see him get laid out cold by Ben but if we're being objective here, the kid is young, in good shape, bigger,and he's been taking the sport seriously for a couple of years now.

It's really hard to imagine anything other than Ben collecting the sorriest paycheck of his life - for getting beat up by an obnoxious Youtuber.

High probability that’s exactly what happens. Aside from what we’ve seen on camera so far, I think he has genuine natural talent and potential. Especially training with some of the best in the sport, the improvement we’re likely to see since he last fought will be dramatic.

Only real chance I see Askren having here is taking the fight into deeper waters where his experience and toughness begin to play a factor.

Even then, I think it’s very slim. With a proper team and training partners around him, hard to imagine many scenarios where they don’t prepare / drill against everything someone like Askren has to offer.

there is no bigger advantage in a face punching competition when your 25 and first got punched in the face at 23. And nobody has ever put it on you as there is a way out.

and you can’t prepare a very rich kid against that unless you just beat his ass repeatedly for many rounds and during the point of exhaustion.

he has men cheerleading and staging cheers. It’s a show. He’s good at it. He took Ben because he watched a compilation of YouTube striking.

Ben appears to be the weakest puncher on paper with a name so that’s why this fight is happening. This is about 8 feet up from that you tube kid and a basketball player. Which keep in mind have never been punched in the face.
