Cliffs:
-Young Muslim student (Mohimanul Alam Bhuiya) from Columbia Iniversity decides to go to Syria and fight for ISIS.
-Months later he's very much regretting his decision
-ISIS takes Mohimanul's passport, preventing him from leaving the country
-Mohinmanul emails the FBI requesting help in escaping from ISIS/Syria
-Before FBI replies, Mohimanul escapes on his own and makes his own way back to the US and is immediately arrested and now faces 25 to life in prison.

Did this guy really think that that any federal agency would assist him? The idiot is a traitor, i'm suprised they didn't just just him down, seeing as he's a known ISIS soldier.

thoughts?

On one hand, it could perhaps be helpful to have him out in the world, explaining why he made his decision and pointing out the people and influences that encouraged him to make it, and then explaining why it was not what he thought it would be and why he disagrees with it now and encouraging others not to make the mistakes he did.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure I'd be generally happier if he'd just died in transit.

He left to fight for a hostile army. Treason. Prison. Sounds good to me. Good riddance, shit stain.

Even Ivy League students can be dumb as dirt sometimes.

Punishment for Treason is death. I'd be ok with this POS getting put to death. If he had the same judge from the Brock Turner case, that judge might see that he was enrolled at Columbia and give him a slap on the wrist, because it would have severe impacts on his future.

It appears they are quite frequently. Harvard, Yale and now Columbia have been producing some real gems out of their "Safe Space"/"Inclusive language" culture.

He was a real moderate.
Like, "yes I do want to kill all you people, but not under these conditions"

I'm surprised Obama didn't pardon him, remind us of how peaceful Islam is and set him up with a place to live and some social assistance.

A western Muslim didn't like real Sharia?

Color me surprised.

Now this is shit posting.

Why in the world would he be arrested? He made a mistake, he realized it, and now he's being punished for it. This is a huge mistake by the United States. So I guess it is better to just stay and fight for ISIS

I realize you're being sarcastic but didnt his wanting out just prove that it is peaceful? And here we are, the Christian nation, doing a very unchristianlike thing. I do hope Obama steps in and corrects this problem

Damn, you're back. Awesome!

Extract as much info as possible. Give him a parachute and reserve, and drop him in ISIS controlled territory.

Good, he's a traitor should be treated as such.

Wouldn't this be some kind of proof that college really doesn't make a person better? (And this is coming from someone that has a college degree)

I think it is just better not to go fight for a state your government is at war with.
