Anyone else think the betting odds on Jan vs Ankalaev are out of kilter?

My betting website has it 3.52:1 Jan, 1.30:1 Ankalaev

For Americans that's +252 for Jan, and -333 for Ankalaev

I agree Ankalaev is extremely good, but I think these odds are substantially too short for Ankalaev, what do other Sherdoggers think?

Ive seen polls where 65% of people are picking ankalaev. Jan is a bit old and hasn’t looked stellar recently. The lines move as the bettors bet.

Jan has the edge on the feet. Too bad he has lousy TDD. I'm pretty sure he will spend a good amount of time on his back. Ankalaev has the cardio advantage too imo.

How the freak hasn't he looked stellar when he leg kicked Rakic so badly that he tore his ACL? An outcome which has a high chance of repeating against Ankalaev?

But while we know Ankalaev can wrestle well, we have seen no evidence that Ankalaev can be Khabib and wrestle Jan for 5 rounds. It is more realistic to expect a scenario where Ankalaev wrestles Jan for 2-3 rounds and then gets an ugly decision win. But Jan is so good against counterstrikers that it might be difficult for Ankalaev to survive him for more than round 3.

Jan is a lucky champion, not sure why people think he is elite. Ankalaev should win easily.

Sorry, I mean I think Ankalaev is too much of a favourite to win. I feel like Jan is too much of an underdog on the betting odds.

Jan gets no respect. Never has. It’s not surprising at all that a surging neckbeard is the favorite, considering how bad Jan looked against old man Glover.

He got taken down effortlessly by Glover and Rakic. Even Gus lay n prayed him some years ago.
He was rocked by glover. I dont remember much if the rakic fight. Still jan is a very good grappler as well.

Glover and Rakic are 2 of the best wrestlers in the division right now, I am not sure Ankalaev is on their level grappling wise. We know Ankalaev can wrestle, but clearly it is not his main weapon.

Hope I'm wrong because I'd love to see Jan hold the belt again. I admit I haven't looked too much into it but from what I've seen Jan has some of the worst TDD in the division eventhough he's a decent grappler.

Ankalaev isn't a great wrestler but he is capable. Mostly uses it when his opponent starts to fatigue. But all it takes is one good TD and I'm not sure Jan can get back to his feet before the bell lets him.

The thing too is that Ankalaev's cardio is a big question mark; his style is naturally super energy conserving and something that doesn't require much cardio to last for 5 rounds. But if he is forced to fight differently then we might get to see his cardio tested. And Jan has an ability to force his opponents to be aggressive, as his fight against Israel and Rakic has proved. He sticks to you like glue and you can't run away from him, either you fight back or you get picked apart like Reyes did.

Care to exaggerate even more lol?? None of that was effortless. Rakic went 1 of 4 and the sole TD he had to work for and trip Jan and Glover went 2/6 on TDs.

Jan has pretty stellar TD defense.

It seems apt. Ankalaev has seemed sharper than the rest of the division. Jan’s power is an interesting factor but ankalaev seems better almost everywhere

They seem about right. There's a general belief that Jan has lost a step. There's also a (silly) general belief that Russians have super powers.

I'm favoring Ankalaev, but Jan is tough and he hasn't lost his power. Not only is he a live dog in this fight, but he's been the underdog in most of his best performances. I hope he pulls off the upset again.
