anybody seen Leave The World Behind?

No, anyone in Julia Robert's position is going be WTF to anyone who shows up in that situation.

But your ultra socialist views are superseded by your racial cuckery because renters rights don't matter if the owners are black even if they are ultra wealthy
Wtf is my "racial cuckery"? I see black people as human beings and my equals so I'm racially cucked?? Lmao.

On topic - the apocalypse is happening. The owners of a home are more than entitled to go to their home.

Judothrowfiasco during the apocalypse - "oh man shit is going down! I've got to get my family to safety immediately.....oh fuck I forgot the air bnb people are there this weekend. Well there goes that plan! Guess my family and I are going to have to die"

Yeah Dude, I'm sure that's how you'd behave. You'd avoid getting your family to safety during the apocalypse to protect the renters rights of air bnb'ers. Just say you're racist man. It's so much less time consuming

I already said I haven't. It's just pointless having a discussion about whether or not a movie is woke or not if people are going to say 'don't trust white people' isn't woke messaging. Now I know you'll say it made sense in the context of the movie. That's irrelevant.

In a narrative, how you tell a story matters. You'll see if you watch enough movies, white racist characters are typically depicted as stupid/jealous/evil etc. There's a price to being racist for a white character - regardless of whether you can make an argument for it. And there are always harsh consequences for those characters. They often get killed, in fact.

In American History X, Derrick Vinyard's dad was murdered by a black guy while he was working in a black neighbourhood as a fireman. Derrick Vinyard has a 'reason' to be racist. So was that forgiven in the narrative of the film? No. There was a massive cost for that character. He went to prison and his little brother got killed.

That's what we mean by woke meassaging. A black character can be racist in a movie without there being any cost for it. This is the film maker's way of showing his point of view through the narrative of the film. Often times black characters with racist attitudes are actuslly depicted as the heroes of the film.

I don't normally give thorough breakdowns of stuff like this because I already know you're just going to blow it off and not address it, but there, I've explained it.

Now disregard it.

I love how you can understand that American History X isn't a racist movie because of context but you can't also apply that to other films you haven't even seen.

And your point doesn't even make sense. There have been tons of movies with racists in them that didn't get harsh consequences for being racist. Same goes for many characters with other negative character traits.

Radical cuckery because the only reason you're critiquing Julia's skeptisms is because it was toward black people. Not because the owners randomly show up in the middle of the night, no mention that they have Insider info that there could be an apocalypse, no ID, and a vague reason why they couldn't just check into a hotel (even though they are very wealthy) Any normal person is going to be skeptical of that, but since the renters are white and the owners are black, it has to be rascism.

Oh, Eisbar, I see even on Your 10th account, your cuckery to all thing leftists just drives you to assume white people are racist when they don't just bend over to minorities

Well I'll be damned. Someone finally took their schizo goggles off and put some critical thought into figuring put who I am.

As for the rest - we all know how deep your racial resentments are man. Just say it. Say you're a racist. It would be a huge weight off your shoulders. You'll feel so much better

I assume as soon as a certain crowd heard the Obamas were involved then those opinions are predetermined. As far as I can tell the only thing that people can bitch about is the one video someone already posted in this thread, and I guess Julia Roberts character basically acting like she couldn't believe the two black characters would own/live in that type of house. It's such a stupid thing to get hung up on. Too many people just want to be pissed off these days and will look for anything to bitch about.

Which is hilarious considering Obama criticized the woke left for being a "circular firing squad" and told them to chill out.

Well i watched it, the movie wasn’t woke per se, it has woke and stereotypical characters, it does have a political angle at the end but it’s not a woke message, the opposite.

It’s like watching the first few seasons of Lost but without an actual ending, and half way through, you can tell that this is what the movie is, a dragged out scenario of 6 people trying to figure out things, kind of like a suspense movie without much suspense, it was kind of lame but i didn’t waste much time, was enjoying dinner and some drinks.

it wasnt horrible, but you can feel that there would be no ending, or some bullshit, which it was. the female characters were insufferable, world is ending, and one college woke gal is offended about ethan hawk's insensitivity....... julia "I'm not racist, I hate everyone" roberts, couldnt believe the owners for half the entire movie, never mind that he had the keys and rolling in a bently and has a stack of cash to give them..... even after they leave and return, george let him back in and she was still skeptical. Turns out julia wasnt rascist at all, she's just a terrible person, and that's not so big of a win..... Woke girl saying clay just wants to fuck.... was an outlandish take, dont trust white people, absolutely outlandish and came from nowhere.

I guess they were trying to drag out the movie as much as possible, and for the politics, it had characters that were political, but the overall arch was not. I really didnt need to watch the two karens go at each other, not sure how the contractor "friend" could be so stone cold, which was unbelievable and contrived, considering that nothing has happened to him other than losing power and wifi <Lmaoo>

LOL, warroom guys are the most fragile snowflakes on this site.

Anyhow, the movie kinda sucks but not for the reasons fragile warroom guys think.

Everything in the movie seemed pointless when you get to the end. That was what sucked for me.
it was pointless half way in, the pacing was way too slow, and the entire chapter about flooding..... someone needs to explain that lost of 20 minutes

I agree the ending was abrupt but overall I enjoyed it. I didn't get upset with white Karen or cuck Hawke. I just liked the wonder of what was happening and how they were all lost with exception to George who had some idea of what was going down. Also saw Karen as more of a momma bear than a racist even if some of her concern was race based. Most moms wouldn't want a strange man, regardless of race staying in the house with their daughter.

Kinda fizzled out, I would have been happy if they got wiped out by a band of marauders or something conclusive.

Can we please move this crap thread to the WarRoom?

It's harshing the chill Mayberry-vibe, man.

I don't like those troll trailers where you don't even know what the movie is about. Looking online it seems that the nature of the "apocalypse" is kept vague. So basically it's not even about the apocalypse, it's some sort of pretentious exposé about how people react in life or death situations? Yawn.

There already was one that died quickly. The "Obama's racist movie!" fear mongering was slapped down by posters from by both sides.

I love all the discourse about "wokeness" in film/TV. Not because I believe it has any merit, but because any time someone unironically uses the word "woke" as a criticism of a piece of media, I know I can summarily dismiss their opinions about anything.

Honestly, if it's really that racist against whites, then it makes me want to watch it more.

See, whenever folks say things that seem questionable, like trump being racist, I like to look up said reasons and see if they hold water.

Therefore, I should give this a try. I love the actors, but the biggest thing preventing me is hearing the ending is awful.

the thing is that......... the trailer is the movie, I didnt know it was a "Psychological Thriller", the entire movie is about sewing doubt and fear in your mind, but that can only go so far, and it gets boring and repetitive

I would rewatch it. It was pretty decent but no masterpiece and had quite a few flaws and unexplained phenomena which annoyed me.
