I've been seeing a lot of talk on reddit about this movie. It's from Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot) and produced by the Obamas. I watched a preview and it looks interesting.

Anybody seen it yet or have any thoughts on it?

I just finished it, I liked it a lot. These type of movies are right up my alley though, so it doesn't take much for me to like it. I liked most of the actors in it for the most part. The only character that was a bit annoying was Julia Roberts.

It's not necessarily an apocalypse movie ... more like a view on how we are reliant on technology and themes like that

Wife wanted to watch this the other night, it seemed interesting at first. I think people at her university were talking about it. About 45 minutes to 1 hour in, she said, "are you enjoying this? I'm not" I wasn't, nothing was really happening, it got turned off. I was skeptical when I saw the Obama's produced it. I think this has lots of buzz because to a ton of people the Obama's can do no wrong.

I'm fine with people hating on it (it was an absolute average movie that botched the ending) but at least watch it first....

The idea is interesting, the trailer makes it look like pseudo intellectual fear porn garbage like the day after tomorrow. Also Mr robot sucked. But it doesn't look woke to me. And I'm considered one of the crazy right wing.

worst ending ever with a bunch of ham fisted "whitey is bad" written directly from Obama. This gives that movie crash a run for its money with how on the nose the "racism" is. It started out promising but never really goes anywhere.

Obama also got 50 million from netflix to "advise" on movies so expect this to continue.

I only want to see it because I enjoy end of the world/post apocalyptic stuff. I didn't even know Obama had anything to do with this until people got mad about the racist black wife.
