Last one was a VStar 1300 Tourer which I sold last year.

I may get another one eventually, something like a Triumph Street Scrambler 1200. Fun bike that handles dirt roads very well too, which is great for my area.

Sport tourers are the way to go. You get the performance of a sport bike with more comfortable but still sporty ergonomics.
I don’t want a litre bike. I want some thing that I can use for my work commute, and also take to track days. I want something less than 750 mL. I’ve been looking at the CBR 650. Just looking for other suggestions as well.
The Yamaha Tracer 900 and BMW F900XR would be at the top of my list if I were in the market for a new bike.
If you're going used you can find the following bikes for amazing prices, Suzuki Bandit 1250, Yamaha FZ1, and Honda CBF1000.
The sport tourer segment is giving way to the adventure/adventure tour segment these days. Triumph's Tiger 900 has my eye. One of my biker bros is considering a Yamaha Tenere 700, which has the ultra reliable and incredibly fun MT07's parallel twin engine at its heart. Slap some 80/20 tires on that baby and you'd have a perfect tourer/wheelie monster/dirt roader.
In my garage I have an FZ07 and a BMW S1000XR. One bike for scooting around town, the other for pulling miles down.
I'm constantly buying and selling. Gotta collect them all.

If there was a Triumph dealership within a reasonable distance, I would have picked up the Tiger 900 instead of my S1000XR. It's such a beautiful bike with all the same tech features, it's a nice bit thinner at the seat than the XR making it easier to get your feet down, and it's about 75lbs lighter.
From what I know of the Ruroc helmets, they are good quality and lightweight. Not worth that coolness tax, though.
...maybe worth if you own a Toyota 4Runner and the Tiger 900 in that colour.
You can get the 650R for an additional 600$. It doesn’t look as cool but definitely need a windshield if I don’t want to pick bugs out of my everything. I will definitely have to try out some of those others however.The CB650r is a fantastic bike.
The only issue I have with naked bikes is that they're naked. No windshield and no fairing makes for a windy ride. The wind you'll get will be mostly "clean" aka free of turbulence thanks to the aerodynamics of bikes these days, but it's still fatiguing especially if you're on the highway a lot.
30,000kms per year is a decent bit of going. If I only had one bike and planned to do that kinda mileage I definitely wouldn't choose a naked. Maybe I'm a wuss.
