Anthony Smith did the very best he could with fortunate timing.

Because we are talking about 'talent' in the context of the UF fucking C.

CM Punk could probably beat your ass, but I'm not going to call him a talented fighter because he can whoop some insecure internet troll on a karate forum.
Lmao

Anthony "Lionpoop" Smith was never my friend

Smith became popular because of the UFCs bad policy to not letting old and over the hill fighters and former stars retire with dignity in a super fight against another veteran but feeding them to young lions.

I am happy he lost and I wish he will get the same treatment as the old vets who had to lose to this nobody.

But if he's ranked, and got ranked wins, then even in the context of the UF fucking C, he's above average and not trash, right?

Seems like what you are really saying is that he's trash compared to the greats and in context of being an elite championship level fighter, which seems like an argument no one has ever made for Smith.

He's better everywhere than you would think and he's improved a lot over time. People talk about his jiu-jitsu but I think the best part of his game is his counters/timing. He's sneakily decent there, but like all of his skills, he's just not world class anywhere. And that becomes a problem against the best fighters in the world.

You're being willfully ignorant. The context is the joke of the division which is the LHW.

He's a Jobber, just deal with it.

I will forever be thankful for Smith strangling Gus and sending that fanbase into a collective meltdown still felt to this day. He's a legend for that <Moves>

His best win is Shogun & it’s not even close
No it isn't shogun was out of his prime for atleast 10 years. his best win is ozdemir, because that's the only time you can say he beat a contending fighter at their best. Shogun was FAR from at his best.

that version of Shogun is still better than the version of Volkan that Smith fought. Cmon now

You are VERY weirdly invested in pushing this "he's a jobber thing" - like you've got money on converting people.

Did Anthony shit on your cornflakes or beat your favorite fighter? Let it go.

Dude you're having a bad day. Cm punk would lose against most amateur fighters.

Wmma is new. Can't compare it to mans divisions. If you can't see that Anthony got a lot of skills, toughness and athleticism. Then obviously you're only mma expirience is from YouTube and sherdog. He's a black belt and won like 40 fights.

Also you're like calling me out in a bad mannered way. Let me tell you not everyone online is a can like you probably are at sports.

Sipping haterodae today, aren't we.

OK I'm out.

I'd fight cm puno for free. If you ever frequented any type of martial arts gym you could see cm punk is sub average even to the regular gym goer. He's not talented or just started way to late.

You don't know be but make call outs and ask for proof.

I already posted a big video and pictures of myself.

I bet you won't do that.
Wmma is not new, it's not new in general and it's not new to the UFC. The skill level just isn't there and never will be. No need to make up bad excuses for them.

To me, Smith is the embodiment of "middle of the road."

Proficient in all areas but not at all exceptional in any of them.

He's a solid journeyman and over achiever. He got lucky being on a win streak at a time when there were barely any contenders. He wouldn't get near a title shot if his win streak happened today....in fact he simply wouldn't have a win streak. Look at his streak.
