Okay now list some non a-listers and tell me how much they make from sponsors while in the ufc. Only a select hand of ufc fighters are making sponsorship money in the Ufc with the majority of it being some form of cbd cream, American ethanol, Adidas wear and maybe the odd car dealership.Ufc fighters get sponsors, and have a much, much larger social media platform and following than guys in other orgs. They lose on fight week sponsorships but sponsor / pitch all over social media. Ryan Bader has 133k followers on instagram. Pettis has 1.4M, literally 10x as many. Lima has 220k. Pitbull 107k. Poirier 1.8M. That is $.
If he's able to make more money for himself, then that's fine, I'm totally good with that. I hope he does. I'm just not sure if he will.Maybe he realized that he is declining too fast and didn't want to go on another string of losses to people with no name. Pettis has all the skills but his brain can't fire off the same as it was when he was subbing Bendo. Duke still hasn't been able to correct Pettis' problem of being walked down either. Its kind of a smart move because now he can get sponsorships again, get paid almost the same and fight lower competition, increasing his chances for bigger paydays. Good for him.

He's also a guy you'd like to see the ufc show a little loyalty towards, but then I'm not the billionaire paying for it
WME can’t afford to pay for the big names anymore. They are in massive debt because they got conned by the Fertittas and Covid isn’t helping
Like I said they all are pitching shit all day on social media. They all are getting paid. I wouldn’t assume bellator sponsors are paying much more when the exposure and reach of the ufc is so much greater. Joaquin Buckley has as many Instagram followers as bellators double champs. O’Malley has 10x as many.Okay now list some non a-listers and tell me how much they make from sponsors while in the ufc. Only a select hand of ufc fighters are making sponsorship money outside of the Ufc.
Why is it so hard for people believe that some fighters willing chose to leave the UFC!?
People have free will.
How many us spend our entire career working fir a single company? Very few I imagine
Why would it be any different from fighters when they have so many options now?
No job makes every employee happy at all times
Not sure you can call it disloyal to let a guy pursue other opportunities. If he's able to make more money for himself, then that's fine, I'm totally good with that. I hope he does. I'm just not sure if he will.

Well the ufc generally has a right to match if they want, so it’s not total free will. But agree with the sentiment. Why is it so hard for people believe that some fighters willing chose to leave the UFC!?

O'Malley has a massive following for how new he is, there's also a unique market for that crowd. Buckley just scored a flashy ko.Like I said they all are pitching shit all day on social media. Why do you think it’s a handful of fighters? Again, guys like poirier have almost 2m followers. Izzy has 4m. Ortega 760k. Max over 2m. Costa over 1m.O'Malley has a massive following for how new he is, there's also a unique market for that crowd. Buckley just scored a flashy ko.
You are 100% right about exposure. But again there is literally a handful of ufc fighters that have that luxury. Every former ufc fighter has explained the benefit of being able to pick and choose your own sponsors over what the Ufc allows.
Do you think giga chikadze is getting more exposure than can crusher venom page? Doubt it. I suspect mvp makes far more from sponsors. Bader has 133k followers but he sure looks comfortable. Wonder if jan is getting the same side money from sponsors + reebok
I just checked pettis page. Hes not posting everyday pushing some kind of product. And like i said earlier, it looks to be the odd product. His last post involving a product was nov 28th. Today is dec 23. Engraved pistol clips and cbd.
Your listing top 5 fighters former/current champs. Of course they're gonna have massive followings. Why aren't you listing guys like Kevin Holland (who fought repeatedly this year and just crushed jacare). Kevin has had the most exposure and only has 145k followers. I also don't see him posting daily pushing a product. Why do you think it’s a handful of fighters? Again, guys like poirier have almost 2m followers. Izzy has 4m. Ortega 760k. Max over 2m. Most of the complaints were from years ago. Social media has increased fighter reach and opportunities a lot. Mitrione has 60k followers and I think he was one of the guys who talked about sponsors.
MVP is an outlier with close to 500k.
Again, bellator fighters can put a logo on their shorts and their sign in the cage. That’s worth something of course. But I can’t say for sure it is more than the opportunity guys have through their significantly larger social media reach. Pettis being less busy doesn’t change that other guys are literally posting daily.
Again, I’m not saying I know. I’m saying I wouldn’t draw conclusions. They are very different sponsorship models. You see it when you see all the ##’s when guys post.

If you go back in time and read how much these guys were making off their banners and shorts, it doesn't make any sense that they're making as much money through the odd IG post. I don't see Vitor Belfort posting about Gillette on his ig and he reported a loss in millions due to the change . Now unless Poirier is posting a new product everyday for 2 weeks then maybe. But if you go on his IG what you'll see is him pushing a cbd product called reapcbd. Guess how many followers reapcbd has? A whopping 172.
In reality its usually some small company and its very unlikely that company is shelling out 5k to all these fighters every time they make a post.
Its ok that we disagree on this. How do you like the Grand Seiko? What made you pick that over the others? (Rolex, omega, etc)Holland has more followers than their double champs.
Ufc fighters took a big loss on sponsors because ufc fights had a big reach. But that doesn’t mean bellator is getting them the same sponsors they had before.
I don’t believe belfort was making over a million from sponsors for fight week. And yes, some guys are posting daily from what I can tell.
anyway I have no hard data on either side. But guys are definitely sponsoring and getting paid for it.
And btw, I’m typing this staring at my grand seiko.![]()
I already had a Panerai and a UN. There’s an seiko AD near my office. Spring drive is mesmerizing. Detailing is great. Keeps perfect time (my others aren’t close and it gets aggravating to reset the time). Was just a more special piece in my opinion. Its ok that we disagree on this. How do you like the Grand Seiko?
