Anthony Perosh BJJ Black Belt

Belt mean jack in the octagon. A strong wrestler can still control you on the ground regardless of what belt you are...

This! If wrestling had belts, a good college wrestler like Bader would not only have a black belt but would be 3rd to 4th dan. Competent wrestlers can completely neutralize nearly competent BJJ black belt with their top control. But their bottom game sucks and a BJJ black belt will eat them up in minutes if not faster.

I guess you havent seen Royce/Hughes if you dont understand how this could happen. Many BJJ players arent the strongest, most athletic guys but can still have great BJJ. When facing a strong ass wrestler with big punching power, things might not go as you want them to go

Bullshit, he showed great jiujitsu bottom repositioning game in round 2. It's why he survived.

Kinda hard to show off your badass bjj skills when you're get beat the hell up everywhere the fight goes.

TS - have you ever trained BJJ before? P.s. there's no right answer to this question - yes or no will make you look like a fool either way

It was like watching a math teacher get beaten up by the class jock

I remember as a purple belt rolling with an Iowa State wrestler (fairly large, maybe 190-200#) who'd never trained BJJ before and having little/no success against him from the bottom because his base, conditioning, and strength were ridiculous. Bader is a much better wrestler who gets paid to spend a large part of his time training BJJ with other high-caliber grapplers, so the argument that top-game-oriented Perosh looked BJJ-illiterate because he couldn't or didn't do much from the bottom is uninformed at best.

Most BJJ blackbelts would get eaten alive by Bader in an mma fight dude.

I think with Bader, the life was beaten out of him early in the fight, and he was in straight survival mode not being able to think about any BJJ offense from the ground. I am honestly very surprised he managed to make it to the end of round three.

Did he get his black belt off John wills?

Not in a Gi
Bader was very sweaty
Bader is much stronger
Bader is of a high level in his own right
He was getting hit in the face over and over again

Is it that hard to understand? Just because you have the knowledge of a BJJ black belt doesn't mean you can automatically put it in to practise against a far better/stronger fighter than you in an MMA fight.

Perosh is out of his depth in the UFC.

Also wasn't Perosh's head against the fence for a lot of the fight? That really limits your movement.

This.

Look at Mir vs. Lesnar 2 as well.

In Perosh's 3 fight winning streak a couple years ago, he totally dominated all 3 guys on the ground.

A lot of skills start going out the window when you're getting your ass beat.
