News Anthony Johnson explains his exit from the UFC

“Gave back like a pussy”

cowards like yourself lack testicular fortitude and reek of feminine aroma. You sit there with your dubs and bash someone that is the furthest thing from a pussy. Although I am not surprised that someone of your stature doesn’t readily identify what a pussy actually is you petulant fucking child.
lol i thought u said Feminine Arona first.

Arona IS ALL MAN

With Bones moving up to HW and DC retired, he had a real good shot at becoming UFC LHW champion. I mean he's on about the UFC's "younger generation", and his "time ran out"... but the LHW champion is in his late 30's, and I reckon Rumble would have KO'd him with ease.

An odd move, imo. Especially since there is no bad blood on either side. But I do wish him all the best, and I will be watching him in Bellator for sure.

Dude... Your Av....

They want young guys who will fight for pennies from that terrible reality show.

they don’t want well paid mma veterans. They want striking battles with idiots with Mohawks.

It’s fine if this continues. It will build up mma outside of the UFC.
Honestly? Maybe instant money but definitely not better competition then Bellator.. for example Prochazka rejected Bellator which offered him title shot and instant better money and accepted offer from UFC with much lower instant money but his paycheck grows by every win ... BTW by what Jiri said after he take LHW and HW(?) title in UFC he wants these titles in Bellator

People should try and check out what Bellators fighter makes when they go to California.

From the Chael vs Rampage fight in 2018 in Cali

Rory MacDonald: $100,000 (no win bonus)
def. Douglas Lima: $100,000

Michael Chandler: $50,000 (no win bonus)
def. Goiti Yamauchi: $23,000

They make peanuts. The undercard guys make very little.

He has already reentered the testing pool. Started getting tested in September. People claim he’s ducking USADA with no justification. I think it’s just money. UFC wants cheap labor. With the lack of a live gate they are really hurting.
he entered the pool. it doesn't mean his samples came back clean. reentering the pool he can declare prior use and if he flags for those substances he doesn't get sanctioned but he can't fight.

ufc did say he was under contract. seems they were willing to pay him his contracted money.

even if you don’t agree with me. Anthony Johnson says what he thinks they are looking for. I think his opinion counts.

Oh, I don't disregard or even disagree with what Anthony says, he is right. However, Anthony said in a way respectful way that his time ran out and they are looking for the next generation.

You said they are looking to get guys to fight 5 times a year from the shitty reality tv show and fight for cheap. I just showed you that's not the case at all. They don't get paid peanuts, and they don't fight 5 times a year. They get paid the same as any other UFC fighter at their level and some are highly ranked and even got title shots.

Now of course the UFC is looking for new talent. Why would they invest a lot of money into Anthony Johnson, he's gonna be 37 when he fights next and been off for 4 years, he was likely looking for big pay. Or even Yoel Romero. This is nothing new, they've been doing this for 15 years. It's just a thing in pretty much any sport, particularly in mma. But as I pointed out earlier, the UFC still has many veterans they make big $$$

Bellator is a way better fit for him and everyone knows it.

They’ll give him the freedom to bounce up and down weight classes on a whim and blast overmatched opponents out at leisure.

Johnson is not the type of guy that wants to climb the ladder and wait around for title shots. He doesn’t have the patience or discipline.

They probably done care if he doesnt make weight if the fight still happens

He might, who else on that roster are they paying big money for other than their champions and Fedor? They can possibly afford it with a guy who gives out KOs like candy which will equal viewers. This isn't even including potential sponsor pay as he is free from that shitty Rebook/UFC deal.
sponsor pay is an unknown. people way oversell sponsor pay that they know nothing about. ufc fighters can't represent sponsors in official ufc events. bellator fighters can (but alot less people watch). ufc fighters can pitch anything anywhere else. they have ALOT more visibility on social media. many of them are active every day on social media sponsoring products, events, companies, etc. blachowicz has 380k IG followers, nemkov has 76k. cejudo has 669k, pitbull has 107k. poirier has 1.8m, lima has 220k.......that translates into dollars.

Well that’s not what anyone has suggested yet but yeah anything is possible. Dana said he was under contract.
Yeah I know he was, but it sounds like perhaps they didn't want to honor the terms of his old contract. He was getting paid like a title contender, maybe
Hendo and Werdum off the top of my head.

what made you think it sounded like they didn't want to honor the terms of his old contract. dana said he was under contract, no?

I would LOVE to see Rumble vs. Yoel Romero

Well, the roster is growing day by day. Is not like they signed Joe Schmo. You can spin it any way you want to but Yoel and Rumble are still top 10 fighters with at least 3-4 good fights in them. Anytime you add legitimate contenders, particularly popular contenders, you are growing your roster.
But we don't know what Rumble's gonna look like?

Yoel 3-4 fights? don't know...could be, but at that age decline can strike swiftly

I did see where he said he has been tested 3 times already. Its just he admitted to being on the juice for body building so thats why I say that.

Also, this is probably a better opportunity for his cannabis business in terms of marketing and shit

Its good to hear something positive. Good for Rumble. I hope it works out and he brings more viewers to Bellator.

He was tested back in September. We would have heard about it if he pissed hot. How many failed tests does He have?
