News Anthony Johnson explains his exit from the UFC

I did see where he said he has been tested 3 times already. Its just he admitted to being on the juice for body building so thats why I say that.

Also, this is probably a better opportunity for his cannabis business in terms of marketing and shit
Fair point. I'd have to assume he would wait until his system was clean before he reentered the testing pool. I would assume, could be wrong. Either way he wouldn't be sanctioned because he disclosed it prior to entering the pool and would just have to wait until he provided clean samples to be cleared to fight.

He was tested back in September. We would have heard about it if he pissed hot. How many failed tests does He have?
again, we wouldn't have heard about it if it was for a declared substance upon reentry to the program. they only disclose sanctions.

he might not be able to know if he had traces of substances that take sophisticated testing to detect.

Seems like an amicable split that both sides were happy with.

BUT sherbros are gonna hear this and run with conspiracy theories.

They will say Rumble is on roids. Or that he was too expensive and Dana wanted cheap contender guys. Or that both sides secretly hate each other. Or that Rumble was sent to make Bellator look bad.

When sherbros don’t get an answer that reaffirms their biases they’ll make their own truth that fits narrative that they concocted their heads
Yea, imagine thinking this guy was on PEDs...

Rumble also basically admitted to using PEDs during his Food Truck Diaries episode with Schaub.

But... Those dang sherbros and their crazy "conspiracy" theories <Lmaoo>
Coming from the "Always Rooting for the Black Guy" guy, I'm not too surprised that you may be just a tad bit biased.

Didn't Rumble say earlier that the release was amicable & related to his side hustle (aka his cannabis company)?

“Business-wise, it’s just smart for me,” Johnson said. “I’m going into a different field outside of MMA. It gives me a little bit more leeway to do a little bit more. Honestly, with the UFC like that, you probably can’t really do a lot of things that you’d want to do because they’re such a strict company. When you have rules, you have to follow them, man. I’m not trying to break any rules, so why not just do our thing, show each other love and respect, and it is what it is?”

I feel like he would have gotten champ money eventually. Or had a good chance to do so. I wonder if it's really money?
From both Dana and Rumble's comments I just get the feeling that Dana was telling him something along the lines of "We'd love to have you back but we're only willing to pay you this much", and Rumble was able to get a higher pay cheque at Bellator so it was as simple as that.

Dana just said he was under contract. If so rumble can’t go to bellator and ask what they would offer. He’d have to get permission to talk to bellator.

Not sure why people are critiquing the plausibility of it being PED related. Hes admitted to usage for bodybuilding building purposes, which is several degrees above sport performance reasons. I'm willing to bet a large factor is that his post retirement cycles were so taxing on his hormonal axis that he is trt dependent - or the amount of HCG, Clomid / Nolva / SERM required to rejump his system would blow out any test.

He asks the ufc for his release?
Is this something written into their UFC contracts? If so he could still talk money with Bellator, he just wouldn't be able to have it legally bound in writing prior to UFC release.

He can’t talk money without at least permission. It’s tampering.

Meh... Typical polite bs. Half of it is true. But they didn't pay him what he thought he was worth. Now they're cutting clear top guys like Romero who are expensive and will derail the $5k/$5k Scrubs they're signing. UFC is a entertainment business and nothing more. Don't know why guys keep thinking it's a sport. If Romero and Rumble are top 5 they're top 5. Doesn't matter if they have 1 or 10 fights left. Until they're no longer top 5 they should still be in the UFC. But nah, they have to save $$$ to bring in Jake Paul.

Also, I'm not saying Rumble is top 5 right now since he hasn't fought before anyone tries to be a smartass. But we all know here he's probably still one of the best and deserves at least one chance to prove it.

Anyway, I really hope Bellator can grow to Strikeforce levels at least.

They didn't want a guy who would obviously be the favorite against either Jan or Glover, their two top current LHWs, because they didn't want to pay him. It's that simple/

Anyone with a UFC belt is the favorite over Crumble

Where does this legal obligation come from?
From contracts and contract law? Look, I’ve given you information. Believe it or not. Do research to confirm if you wish. I’m not going to bother searching for links at the moment.

And what should they do when Romero only wants to fight top 3 guys and the org wants him to fight 6-10 guys?
