At the ending when Michael Pena was doing his narration. It was the scene where the Falcon was talking to the female 'guerilla' journalist and she mentioned that there are people that jump, swing, and crawl on the wall.

Oh, I missed that part. That's my only issue with dine in theaters. You miss a few scenes when you're talking to waiters or paying the bill.

One thing that annoyed me was when ant man fought yellow jacket in the final scene. They were both fighting in miniature form the entire battle. They should've been more strategic and shrunk/enlarged constantly, which IMO would've been a way more entertaining fight. Especially since yellow jacket's lasers were a 1000x deadlier when he was in human form.

I thought it was really, really good. The only reason I don't put it higher in the 9 range is because I kind of have to separate it from a few other marvel movies I liked better (guardians, winter soldier, avengers 1, Thor 1, iron man 1). The comedy was great and the heist scenario were awesome. Paul Rudd ended up being excellent, as were Michael Douglas and Evangeline lily. I didn't expect it to be one of my favorite marvel films, but it is now.

Concerning the final fight scene...

I think they were fighting in miniaturized form in Cassie's room because Yellowjacket's suit got damaged by the bug zapper and couldn't change size anymore. When Yellowjacket arrives at Cassie's room, Scott tags him with a miniaturized disc to allow Cassie to escape and minimized Yellowjacket's threat to Cassie.

It was a fun movie with a lot of heart. Scary villain, but I wish he had more backstory. First 20 mins were pretty slow. Once Scott finally fights a certain character, the movie finally takes off. I still wish it was Pym.

Awesome movie, very much like Ironman 1. I liked how they strung it into the Avengers. I was expecting Michael Pena to be awesome based on Chris Stuckmann's (youtube channel host) review but found him and his gang meh and annoying at times.

Saw this movie in 3D last night by accident and enjoyed it. The more I think about it, due to the often changing size of characters and landscapes, watching this at least once in 3D is a must. (and I hate watching movies in 3D).

This movie was a solid caper/heist movie in comic book movie disguise. It had a very different feel to other MCU movies, with elements of 'Snatch', especially the 2 Michael Pena scenes where he elaborated on 'someone he knew'. The first 20-30 minutes were a bit slow, but once the we got to see what the suit could do, it was pretty action packed and busy through the rest of the movie.

The relationship with Scott's ants reminded me so much of Honey I Shrunk the Kids and brought me right back to my childhood and how awesome ants are.

I'm not a fan of Evangeline Lily though she was 'suitable' for this role, but I don't look forward to seeing her in future movies.

Paul as Scott was great portraying his fish-out-of-water character who was suddenly thrust into a super hero setting, especially with his interaction with another MCU character.

The villain was decent enough and in my opinion, despite the real lack of character arc, you know he was a throwaway character in the end, so not much development is really necessary.

Michael Pena and crew were good comedy relief - he really channeled his inner Cheech Marin for this role and TI & stork-looking dude from The Dark Knight was surprisingly decent in this though largely unnecessary.

All in all, a good addition to the MCU and I give it a 7-7.5 out of 10. Need to see it again to see where it settles on my all time list.

I thought this movie was sensational; fast paced, straightforward thief-turned-charming-superhero-who-redeems-himself-from-past-indiscretions-via-self-sacrifice-and-action-heroics-blahblahblah.

Full of eyepopping, genuinely original action scenes that showcase inventive choreography and imaginative scenarios that develop the concept of a character who can shrink and enlarge depending on the situation in interesting ways - I'm pretty sure the fight in the briefcase and the Thomas the Tank Engine scenes will be seen as classics of their kind.

I think Marvel made the right choice in kicking off Edgar Wright, whose "vision" is way too bizarre and idiosyncratic for something like this - Scott Pilgrim showed that the guy has no restraint and doesn't know when to stop his hyperactive idiosyncrasies and start being coherent for a change.

What we've got is a fast-paced no-nonsense, family-friendly popcorn entertainment. Can easily stand alongside Iron Man and Captain America: The First Avenger (yes, I liked that one) as the best "introducing a new superhero" movie in the Marvel franchise.

Marvel's ANT-MAN Opens to $6.4 Million Thursday Night

Ant-Man-Douglas-Rudd-071715-Dragonlord.jpg

Disney and Marvel's Ant-Man, starring Paul Rudd, marched its way to $6.4 million while Trainwreck grossed $1.8 million Thursday night. It's a decent start for the the big superhero movie starring the little hero, but doesn't touch the Thursday night numbers for last year's Marvel films. Guardians of the Galaxy, another comedic film and gamble on new characters, started off with a huge $11.2 million on Thursday night in August 2014.

Ant-Man's $6.4 million take is comparable to Thor: The Dark World's $7.1 million opening in 2013 (the film went on to earn $85.7 million in its domestic debut) and Minions' $6.2 million opening night tally on its way to a $115.8 million total.

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man stars Rudd as con-man Scott Lang who, armed with a super-suit with the ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, attempts to pull off a heist that will save the world. The comedic superhero film, which also stars Michael Douglas and Corey Stoll, is opening in 3,856 theaters this weekend and is likely to earn in the $60 million to $65 million range domestically.

Who didn't?

Surprised Mr. Sunday Movies hasn't posted that video yet.

I didn't really have any expectations for this film but it was surprisingly good. 8/10.

I thought this movie would suck but was pleasantly surprised. Quite a few moments had me laughing, solid 7/10.

Marvel's ANT-MAN Opens to $6.4 Million Thursday Night

Box Office Mojo has a more detailed breakdown of what those Thursday numbers might portend [LINK]. It leans more towards the $60mil end of the opening weekend projections. That would put the final domestic total somewhere between about $144-164mil based on how Thor2 and Cap2 did. Either way that's the worst performance from the MCU since '08's Incredible Hulk. With a budget of $130mil (the lowest of any MCU film yet) that's easier to swallow, but I'm sure nobody really wanted to be saying, "Well, at least it's not a bomb!"

So it looks like the film is going to have to have a surprise performance with either a bigger weekend than expected and/or excellent legs in order to get past $170mil. Only time will tell.

Dragon, do you think my 7 year old will like it? Is it fast paced enough? GotG is her favourite ever, if that gives you any idea.

You didn't think GotG was a little to violent for a 7 year old?
