Crime Another Shooting, Multiple Victims: I-75 in Kentucky

If conservatives have their way, probably never.

The answer to why we don’t do anything about gun violence is the same as the andwer to why healthcare is so expensive, why we don’t have guaranteed paid maternity/paternity leave, why the ultra-wealthy don’t pay their fair share in taxes…

Republicans.
{<jordan} if MSNBC was a poster...

Considering the area, there are a lot of locally owned guns. In fact, the police asked people not to shoot him if spotted and instead call them. I myself took my pistol out of the drawer and placed it within easy reach last night. If this asshole comes poking around my property, I will call the police first if I can safely do so, but I'm not going to cower somewhere hoping they come save me like a damsel in distress—not with my having the means to get the drop on the guy. I suspect that's the thinking of most people in the area.

Harris wins the Presidency and the Dems sweep both Houses. Trump is jailed and the GOP reduced to a shadow of it's former power, unable to prevent the Dems passing whatever gun control laws they wish.

Spoiler Alert: even in that scenario, you will still have mass shootings in America. There is at least one firearm for every man, woman and child in the USA. That means if you could somehow stop any new guns being manufactured/bought, and siezed one million guns per year, it would still take three centuries to reduce American gun ownership to the level of European nations.

I'm sorry, but no matter who is in the White House, mass shootings will continue. It's just a fact of life, and death, for Americans.

Is it the police that are responsible for releasing the name of the suspect or is it the media? I'd think it would be the police so using this line of thought it's police departments across the country that are withholding information to get Harris elected. Fucking libtarded ass cops.

I know we used to release that info to the press and they wouldn’t always post it. Unless they were issued an official press release. If they just read the reports where we listed a suspects race but didn’t know who they were, they didn’t list it

Getting close to an election, it's full court press time. Any story of a white person shooting someone is going to be national news.

I think it’s any story they can use to make guns look bad that the national media latches onto

Holy shit, they actually used the words mass shooting on this one
It’s almost like those silly talking points you guys repeat every time, really are just silly talking points.

We need armed guards lining the roads and any other thing we can do to harden the highways
- I know youre joking. But we dont see those type of random shootings in other contries.

I don’t think it’s realistic to expect that we’ll completely eradicate any crime completely. But that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be taking action to reduce them as much as we possibly can. Simply calling it a fact of life and sending thoughts and prayers every time it happens is unacceptable.

I don’t know if they are, I don’t live in the states, and I own several guns but had to go through a process that got me the permit to possess them and I think it’s a perfectly reasonable policy.

Well the post you responded to clearly was referring to conservatives in the US so if you don’t know any there who support those measures why did you say it’s was “wrong”.

Here you’re admitting it’s right.

Yes, the post I responded to was misrepresenting what the guy was
actually saying so I was simply pointing that out.

He offered another solution that I also agree with which is more security at schools, don’t see what’s wrong with that?

How does it imply that it’s unchangeable?

“I hate that this is a fact of life” simply implies that he hates that this stuff happens. He follows this up by saying “we have gotta bolster security in our schools”, so not only is he not claiming it’s unchangeable, he’s even offering a solution for changing it.

So yeah you’re as dishonest as those so called journalists, there was absolutely nothing wrong with what he said, you’re just looking to misrepresent his comments because he’s on the other team.
Your literally talking to somebody who routinely sits on this forum bargaining with himself on why his view is the truth. I wouldn't waste your time.

Most people on this forum don't want you to have rhe ability to protect yourself. You MUST rely solely on the Government to protect you.

Ah shit. Let's ban the ones that get used really infrequently by comparison then. That makes sense.
We should take the avenues of action available to us.
I do think we need a constitutional amendment to undo a lot of the harm that SCOTUS has done, there’s no doubt about that. I don’t think anyone thinks that banning AR-15s and similar weapons will eliminate the problem. I think we can make a dent in the problem buy enacting a whole host of laws.

Do you mean ARs, or an outright ban on all guns?

I couldn't find what he actually used here
No, I don’t support banning all guns entirely.
As far as what was used, it looks like an AR-15. Cops found an SUV in an elevated wooded area that they think is the position he used when shooting. SUV had some type of semi-auto rifle.
