A shooting in the good ole US of A? No fucking way, you don't say!
Kanada's here to play, you best stay out of his way, or there'll be another besmirching up in the good ole US of A.
A shooting in the good ole US of A? No fucking way, you don't say!
Don't feel bad at all.,
I was unaware Americans consider semi autos as assualt rifles, it seems very fucking strange to me and yes I was wrong on that but of all the people I have talked with assualt rifle means full auto.
What was so stupid, why should I feel bad?
A shooting in the good ole US of A? No fucking way, you don't say!
Educated firearms enthusiasts don't consider them the same thing, it's the fear mongering bullshit that equates the two (where the fuck did you get this "Americans consider them assault rifles" bullshit anyways?) That's why we were correcting you, did you not pick up on that the first time?
Again, you called them "basically the same thing" multiple times in that thread, even after being corrected. Explain how calling two different things the same demonstrates knowing the difference.
I argue the points too, but when the man consistently brings up bad, ill informed points, it's hard not to notice the short comings of the man.
"Because most people feel that the citizenry should not have and do not need basically the same guns as the armed forces."
So my long standing definition agrees with that of "Educated firearms enthusiasts" and yet I am wrong, how does that work??
Here is the quote,
"Because most people feel that the citizenry should not have and do not need basically the same guns as the armed forces."
That the only time you have quoted me saying "basically the same thing" and I stand by that useage 100%, if I use it incorrectly somewhere else quote that.
And I do this so consistantly you drag up some comments you misunderstood from 2 years ago, uhuh.
I think where the confusion lies is differing assault rifles from "assault weapons." Which is a term that fear mongering liberals made up to refer to weapons that aren't assault rifles, but look scary to them. The similarities in the terms also serves it's purpose by creating confusion among people who don't know shit about guns and think the terms are interchangeable when they aren't.
While I know there's no way for me to dumb it down enough for you to understand and you're a totally lost cause, it's still entertaining to watch you dig yourself into a hole, squirm, then watch the pathetic display of mental gymnastics to explain how you don't think you're wrong.
So now you'd have us believe that Americans were the ones who didn't understand the difference? Calling two different things the same, is the definition of not knowing the difference.
You literally said that the semi-auto AR-15 is the same thing as the full-auto M16 or M4 used by US troops. You literally said that, several times. That is literally, not knowing the difference and any attempts to deny it just hurt your credibility even more because you're not willing to learn.
"Assault Rifle" is a made-up term, just like "Assault Weapon".
A rifle is a rifle. It's either semi-automatic, or fully-automatic. But the gist of your point is spot-on.
I look forward to seeing you quote me on that. It would clear this whole mess up and prove me wrong.
So please post the quote.
Many have tried, all have failed.
I wish you luck.
My original question was basically "does it fucking matter"?
I was just offering that little piece of information as many gun on these sites seem to get confused when non gun owners refer to Assault rifles. I was simply informing them that for almost all intents and purposes they means something similar to what their soldiers use.
Because most people feel that the citizenry should not have and do not need basically the same guns as the armed forces.
Where are you getting this information?
The Constitution guarantees citizens the rights to bear arms. It shall not be infringed. What is the confusion about?
Denial, not just a river in Egypt. It's literally there, already found quotations, two pages ago, you can deny it all you want but you called two different things the same; that constitutes not knowing the difference.
What's funnier is that in hindsight, after being explained the mechanical and functional differences between the two, you straight up said it didn't matter:
There is is again folks, here HIMBOB is saying that they're "similar" and "basically the same" and this is supposed to be an exhibition of how he knows the difference.
"You literally said that the semi-auto AR-15 is the same thing as the full-auto M16 or M4 used by US troops. You literally said that, several times"
I asked you to prove that and you show me a post that does not contain the words Full Auto, Semi Auto, AR-15, M16, M4 and not only that I was refering to other people, not my own views.
Now seeing you think I "literally said that the semi-auto AR-15 is the same thing as the full-auto M16 or M4 used by US troops. You literally said that, several times"
Go and find a quote containing at least some of the key words I literally said.
You are making shit up in an attempt to support an incorrect recollection of events, that is very fucking clear. I never said what you are hinging your whole argument on, you repeating your own bullshit because you believe it to be true does not make it true.
If you wish to go back and reread it may help to consider some of the following.
Am I expressing my beliefs or the beliefs of others?
Am I offering possible explanations for the beliefs of others?
Am I describing the looks or the action of a rifle?
Hopefully these handy hints will steer you right.
Good luck and god speed. I look forward to seeing the quote.

But 2 days ago when I said I agree with the wiki definition of assualty rifle, and that definition includes the full auto caveat, how on earth can you not think I noticed such a key element?
That second line is really what we are talking about, Weapons of Modern War. You do not need the same weapon as your frontline soldiers.
I think most people use the term to describe anything that looks like "the standard infantry weapons in most modern armies".

Yes I read it.
And yes auto is what people have issue with.
Now as I am sure you know some semi auto look exactly like auto, and even in some can be turned to auto.
Do you really expect the average citizen who has never wanked over a copy of Soldier of fortune magazine to actually know the difference between the too?
Can you really can them stupid for not knowing that?
If so how many topics do you think I could call you stupid on?
