Media Ankalaev is open for a immediate rematch: 'Maybe in a rematch he can fight for real'

watching it live i thought ank won but wouldn't be surprised with either. watched it 3 times now. no argument 1,5 poatan then 2,4 ank. but poatan has a better argument for winning rd 3. landed more and cleaner shots. needs an immediate rematch

Were both of Alex’s hands broken or what? He was fighting CM Punk out there who never hurt a fly and Alex didnt even throw a punch. For a violent aggressive striker like him vs a bum, its fishy. Something was up. Did they pay him millions to throw and and have a guy to promote for the people we know Dana is now in business with?Did they threaten Alex’s family? Like wtf is going on lol.
he was fighting Ank and not Rountree, there are levels to this game.
UFC wasted Ank's time by letting Alex fighting Roundtree.
Alex would never be champ if they met earlier

there you go , according to sherdog the best kickboxer of all time got his ass beat in his own game.

Izzy and Alex are average kickboxers and far far away form being elite Kickboxers

Not a fight that claims for a rematch, but there's not much left at LHW.

I rather have a rematch in the hopes that it would be a better fight than give Jiri another title shot.

It's unreal that so many are celebrating the success of his TDD in this fight without realizing that he sacrificed his entire offense (other than leg kicks) in order to do that. I think a lot of people still somehow don't understand the "MMA" part of MMA....they just look at individual surface level skills/abilities/outcomes but don't see how they all affect one another. They think since Ank didn't get a takedown, that his wrestling clearly had no impact on the fight at all 😄. They must think that Weidman is simply a better kickboxer than Anderson, and would destroy him even in straight up K-1.

What in the absolute fuck are you talking about? Anks takedown attempts had little to no affect on the fight. AP gets tons of credit for not giving up a takedown, but he sacrificed nothing to do that. Ank gave him exactly what we all assume he would want - a stand up fight - he just got backed up and didnt respond/know how to respond to moving backward.

Ank was right when he said that Alex needed to stopping running away from him, Alex was running away from him in the fight as well

1st time he fights a well rounded MMA fighter like Ank and Alex has no idea what to do except just back up

You don’t have a clue what you’re watching and talking about.

"That didn't go the way I expected. My expectations can't be wrong, the reality we're presented with must be wrong."

The striking stats tell different story.

It was close.

Ank tried something like 13 take downs and got nothing. Pereira got the only take down in the fight.

Ank can’t finish a fight to save himself unless they are a can.

How many people has Alex ko’d that were the Champions and had the belt or was a former Champ who had the belt.

Ank is a boring as they come and he will barely fight now.

The UFC has some boring belt holders at the moment.

This is the most boring era, probably.

Ankalaev said this in response to Alex criticising Ank's wall and stall gameplan, and saying he got the victory due to that, BUT the truth is Ankalaev was looking far more dangerous in the striking department. He cracked him a few times, apart from when he wobbled Alex, but the biased commentators weren't giving him his dues as they were busy salivating over Alex's leg kicks which in the grand scheme of things did not compromise Ankalaev whatsoever.

I actually thought Ankalaev's leg kicks looked more impactful and some of the front kicks were nasty.

The fight was extremely boring. I’ve hated this style of fighting. Not worth another 80 bucks. I will skip it.
