A pretty good chapter from One Piece this week. So the question becomes, who was Lola supposed to marry? A Giant I would assume?
I've been trying a bunch of different series in the last month or two and for whatever reason a bunch of them turned out to be Chinese action shounens. It's almost disturbing how similar many of them are. To the point it makes me question if there's some classic story in their culture all these things are being lifted from. But besides the story similarities they also share a glaring weakness: poor power-up progressions. The main characters get extremely powerful very quickly and often it comes from some outside influence. This makes me really appreciate how well some series do this kind of thing. For all its issues (especially later in the series), one of the things Naruto excelled at was showing characters learning, growing, and building on previous abilities and experiences. Like with the Rasengan, we see each part of the technique having to be learned in sequence and the difficulties overcome in creative ways using older skills. In these Chinese series a person reads a magic scroll and in the next panel starts blowing shit up.
I'm hesitant to call out an entire country for being creatively bankrupt ripoff artists only able to imitate but not innovate...but if the shoe fits...
Ugh, Coiling Dragon/Panlong is soooooooooooooo bad in that respect.Lol, i've noticed this too. I've read a few, Tales of Demons and Gods, Doulou Dalu, Shen Yin Wang Zuo, Coiling Dragon and they all feel very similar with ridiculous power growth + an occasional obsession with sculpting.
Is One Piece worth watching?
If you're not opposed to reading manga, I'd do that instead. Unless you have thousands of hours to sit through all those episodes and the abundant amount of filler. For a while they were dragging it so bad that one episode was covering one chapter of the manga. Is One Piece worth watching?

Yes. I recommended the manga though since it's much easier to power through it and it's in color now. You can find it at Eatmanga if I remember correctly. Is One Piece worth watching?
