I'd probably give Kubo a round of applause if he pulls that off.

It might be the same case as far as I know. I'm only at chapter 25 or so, but I like what I've seen so far.
Premise is interesting: a middle aged salary man who is ignored and disrespected by his family finds out he only has a few months to live. He laments that the only person that will miss him is his dog. He's involved in an accident that kills him, but for reasons unexplained is brought back as a weaponized android that looks exactly like his previous body. Fearing that he will lose all touch with his humanity, he decides to use his powers to help people. In the meantime, a teenager involved in the same accident decides to use his new android body to be a psychopath. The story follows them as they get used to their new bodies and try to accomplish their own aspirations.
The real kicker is that I really wound up rooting for the old guy. He transforms from a well meaning, but impotent man with an existential crisis into a weapon of war that finds a purpose in helping others. His joy and sorrows are really impactful and I felt a lot of investment early on. I don't know if they can keep it up or if the series, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I'm now on chapter 43. It's been decent enough so far. One thing:
That wavy haired girl is a nutcase. I can't believe she still wants that murderous bastard with her even after she learned the truth.

The best writer ever Tite Kubo..no but he's probably just given up at this point creative writing was never the strong suit of Bleach and it's emotional depth was always sub par but you can tell he just really wants to get it over with at this point. I'm pretty sure he probably scrapped a bunch of chapters, they show all the fullbringers supposedly heading to soul society then only one of does something, most of the fights were 1-3 chapters as well.

everything ends, nothing is exempt to that rule but damn it feels so odd that Naruto and soon Bleach are really over. I was in my teens when I started reading them both, late-ish teens but still. Hell when One piece ends that'll suck. I'd say Berserk ending as well would suck but we'll never see that happen in our lifetimes. Murata's gonna transfer himself into a fucking robot and pump out one chapter a month for 90 more years.

This would not surprise me. Also, I liked this chapter of One Piece though it sucks it's on break again next week which has been murder on the pacing of things. Nami's new weather baton is a Power Pole from DB and I like that we got an explanation of Big Mom's power and kind of expected it to work like that.

Bleach Ends with a fucking Whimper

Wait, it's over now? Like HOLY FUCK MAN!!! Haven't read the chapter or anything, but the idea that Bleach is over is kind of crazy to me still.

Toriko - Holy Fuck Acacia just consumed Neo and morphed into Freeza

Don't come to Sherdog very often these days, but anytime I do I always check these threads. Lots of good folk here.

Been buying and reading the Monster perfect editions that have been recently released, last one just got delivered to my house. It's such a good series. I'm only about halfway through but I love everything about it. Great characters all around. Definitely going to have to check it out in anime form afterwards, I hear it follows the manga very closely.

Also the 9 perfect editions form a giant collage which I thought was very neat.

On the anime side, Been rewatching Durarara! since they finished uploaded the whole second season on Netflix. Such a fun show to watch, and awesome OPs. Just like with Baccano I love how they introduce all the characters in the OP. Hoping the second season is at as good as the first.

Bleach Ends with a fucking Whimper

I have been following Bleach for the last 3 years to find out Aizens Bankai and now the whole thing is coming to an end without explaining his Bankai! NOW I AM PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

his bankai is that everything in bleach was a dream and ichigo wakes up on the last page as the first day of chapter 1, with total recall of all the events.

If that happens next week it would be fitting.

Next week is the for real end , but doesn't change my line of Bleach ending with a Whimper.

I've been thinking about getting back into anime. I have it narrowed down to:

Tenchi Muyo
Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo
Neon Genesis Evangelion

Suggestions people?

Eva or Bebop imo. Champaloo is good too. I couldn't get into tenchi back in the day.

HEATHEN!!! To add to the list, Outlaw Star, Big O, Gundam Wing and G Gundam, Yu Yu Hakusho, Cyborg 009 and Kikaider, and will add more as they come back to me.

Also, the last few chapters of Oh, My Sweet Alien got posted.

Incredibly bittersweet and sad since while the author passed away last year, I'm INCREDIBLY pleased that he was at least able to finish this series. RIP, Miyata Kouji. :(

Edit: Ruroni Kenshin is another good series same for Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex.

Thanks. These are the main four series I have on my external hard drive. I first saw the Tenchi Muyo in Love movie back during the Saturday Anime days on Sci Fi. Looking into the series it's so damn confusing. It seems like there's no definitive order in which to watch the various series and movies. There are multiple tracks you can follow on what is considered canon and what fits where.

Good suggestions. I've seen Big O and Yu Yu Hakusho and some of Outlaw Star and Gundam Wing. Loved GITS but never really looked into Stand Alone Complex.

After hearing positive reviews I checked out Hajime No Ippo a few years back and absolutely loved it. Caught some stuff here and there since then mostly stuff on Adult Swim (Hellsing, Attack on Titan, Dimension W, most recently One-Punch Man).

I have some of the Lupin series too. Need to sit and go through them along with Trigun.

Every super powered manga seems to have a shittastic ending. It is just something we have to accept.

Though I think Bleach might be take the cake on badly ending arcs. Outside of the first arc (rescuing Rukia) every ending has been terrible. I did not think it could get worse than the Fullbring ending. Build up characters for months, only to have them all get destroyed in like one chapter each with no real difficulty.

But the alphabet army and their interchangeable pals took it to another level.

So what is the over/under on a Bleach "spinoff" like Boruto?

I'd say 50/50 I'd say. though will how far Bleach has fallen down the sales chart especially these past few years not sure how much excitement there would be for it. Kubo has just seemed to completely run out of ideas...some many things went completely unexplained...at this point I don't even care, there's a number of bankai's we probably won't get to see which makes me the most angry...that and Yama dying (why do these mangas always kill the cool old dude?) but with how strong he was I can understand why it had to be done cause he would have just run though basically all of the Quincies besides the boss guy.

Boruto can suck it, some how that kid without a tailed beast is gonna end up stronger and more OP then his father, same goes for Sasuke's daughter, she'll somehow unlock a sharingan above Mangekyō

You just know they will find some way to get the fox into Boruto.

So then he will have the fox, and the eye shit from Hinata. And trained by Sasuke. And whatever random shit they want to pour into him.

And I do not care about Sasuke's daughter. Women in the Naruto universe have been completely fucking useless pretty much the whole series.
