Anime and Manga v33

Does anybody have some recommendations for a somewhat realistic samurai manga like Vagabond and Lone Wolf and Cub?

Thanks for the input, i'll likely just stick to One Piece and FMA for now, but I am looking for good action animes.

Baccano, Tiger & Bunny, Shingeki No Kyojin.

Big plus for me that they're not as god awful long as other series.

Add Blade of the Immortal and you have the holy trinity of samurai manga.

We got it, you're a Hipster that doesn't like Attack on Titan. The thing is most people in the anime community do enjoy it to a great extent. myself included.

I always see Attack on titan on netflix and it has a very solid 4.5 star rating, so my question for fans (and haters) of the show is what is good/bad about it?

Generic over dramatic emo tween trash. It's considered "dark, gritty, deep, and hardcore" by 12 year olds.

It's the michael bay transformers of anime.

ignore Project. watch the first episode and you know for what you're in.

It's by far the most popular anime the last couple years.

Like others said ignore Project, he automatically hates any anime not made in the 90's. AoT is pretty good so i'd check it out. Darker than Black is another really good action series.

-Naruto... Sasgay... still being, well.....

-Bleach... Can I just say it's REALLY dumb how those two Vizard captain got their asses kicked that easily?

-One Piece... Did.... did a Marine Admiral just say outloud that he is placing his bets on a pirate? Fujirota and Smoker aren't going to be Marines very much longer I don't think. Also, Doflamingo is a truly scary individual.

Donflamingo is going to waste them, or at the very least escape

I have a hunch his overall character and influence will carry him to the end plot, with him being the connection between the corrupt marines and nobles

Japanese mythologie is a thing that never that never gets old for me in movies.

Try Natsume's Book of Friends, Hotarubi no Mori e and Mononoke series.

Saw it a year ago and loved it. Reminded me of Spirited Away in many ways. And on top of Mushishi I'd check out Kyosogiga.

Edit: New Koe no Katachi

Finally he's awake!

The last two chapters have been really excellent. I just really like the different approach to storytelling. First the jarring dream sequence in Nishimiya's POV and now a chapter with almost no dialogue.

Best part of this chapter is how it used the notebook to connect the past and present.

Have you watched mushishi?
It has to do with the same stuff and is a beautiful series.
Some people drop it cause it's slow but it's episodic so the series actually moves pretty fast.

Anime adaptation is going to be complete this Fall. Gonna be sad when it's all over.

I sense a Crocodile moment coming up. He's gonna lose, but it's very much not gonna be the end of him and it's gonna leave an impact due to his many connections fir the reasons you mentioned.

That dream chapter was really sad since it showed the life Nishimiya wanted and quite frankly deserved, but then she wakes up to find it was only a dream. Loved the chapter as well for similar reasons, but mostly that Ishida is awake since for a while I really did think he was gonna die.

On the topic of Japanese myth based anime and manga, Ran to Haiiro no Sekai is very good as well as is Uchōten Kazoku.

Mushishi puts me to sleep. And I mean that in a good way. When I trouble sleeping I leave and episode or two playing in the background. It's incredibly relaxing.
