It was a nice scrap, but to me, to be honest, it is comparable to 2 C-class boxers colliding. Kind of depressing that this is consider the Holy Grail for the UFC.

I agree, the problem with "exciting" mma fights is that they end too quickly. And the so called great MMA battles that go the distance usually have ugly stand up. Griffin/Bonnar 1 and Chuck/Wand have 1/10 of greatness that I say in Vasquez Marquez 3

Im a huuuge fan of mma but an even bigger boxing fan. Give me a 12 rd. fight where the momentum can change a half dozen times and end in dramatic fashion, over a 3 rd fight anyday. Thats just me..

Its a good thing i'm a fast healer, the diagnosis was 4-6 months. But I've been bustin my ass in physical therapy so i'll probably go back to my norml job in about a month and a half you do the math:icon_chee.....it is pretty pathetic though, my girls on deployment herself so the easiest way to keep in touch is email so combine with my free time and work im on this board alot oh well

You mean I can't comprehend the fact that a guy who looks terrible in boxing 3 years ago can spend three years not training boxing but MMA, and because you say hes better I'm suppost to buy that he can beat RJJ who has been training the bulk of his life?
Three years isn't enough to stand up to an elite level boxer, even one who is slightly faded. Maybe if I train three years I can beat Chuck Liddell?

RJJ would still whoop him in a boxing match even at an advanced age. The Silva in that clip I wouldn't even give a chance against Zab Judah.

His boxing is bad...what do you want me to say.
Well, his technique is bad, he gets caught with stupid shots, he showboats more than fighting....but wait! He had the guts to cross over so hes automatically amazing! War Silva! He can beat any boxer cause he had the guts to cross over!

I should really amend this post, I'm a little annoyed tonight so I'm being too harsh. Silva's boxing isn't that bad. But on a world stage level against elite fighters it is. He'd be a decent club boxer, but def. not a champion. Not even a national champion.

I invite you to then scan your eyes over those words and then please tell me where I don't "respect" Anderson Silva. I was very complimentary of his stand-up as anyone should be.
He's a top P4P type MMA guy.

As a quick addendum, how can it be a standup fight with no rules?
