Anderson Silva earns a cool 20k from Heebok

yes you can. there are loads of fighters making a shit ton from sponsors. there are some fighters whos only social media posts are hawking various supplements, scales, sportswear, shoes and god knows what else

they just cant have sponsors on their in ring clothing, and they cant wear sponsors at things like weigh-ins, official pressers etc.

just like any other sport with independant contractors have clothing rules..

take these guys for instance, all independent contractors, yet have to wear this uniform covered in sponsors

1920px-Androni_Route_du_Sud_2012_Etape3.jpg

they dont get sidermec pay, or androni pay, or colnago pay, or kenda pay

(One slight variation on cyclists they are allowed shoe sponsors, and some teams allow sunglasses sponsor where there isnt a team glasses sponsor)

big difference though, they are contractually obliged to wear team gear at all times, when training, even if going out for a ride with the family on a sunday.. UFC fighters arent forced to train in reebok

Sure thats all fine and dandy but when you cut thru the bureaucratic red tape bullshit fighter A still went from making 100k a night from sponsors to making 3k from Reebok. UFC and reebok get to bankroll off it while fighters nake nothing.

I guess there's plenty of bean counting reptilian corporate shills who advocate for that but I'm a fan of the fighters not of the company. End of the day reebok pay is pathetic and a major reason that name fighters jump over to bellator

very few fighters were making 100k a fight

And no, its not. Benson Henderson went to Bellator and had no sponsors at all on his shorts

Main reason fighters go to bellator is to escape USADA

(one exception being Rory, who had kinda reached a dead end in his UFC career)

Rory and moose both said it was part of their reasoning when they left.

Do you somehow feel like a guy like Adesanya wpuld be making 4k in sponsorships? Wonder how much BK was paying Silva. Hell even Lando could pull a ton of money via sponsorships with his fighting style.

I just cant see a pro Reebok argument unless you're on company payroll. Hell iirc you were a big nowitsky fan maybe youre on UFCs dime too lol

Honestly, from a visual perspective, and especially for newer fans, it is 100x better

you can tune in at any point, immediately figure out who is who, which fighter is which without having to work out which version of condom depot emblazoned shorts is which.

all those shitty sponsors and outlandish shorts were a distraction to be honest, confusing for new fans, tv viewers. From a viewing perspective its a a massive improvement.

sure, there are problems with the whole deal, but lets not pretend there are no upsides at all, to do so is disengenous

and lets not pretend UFC is unique.. there are hundreds of thousands of "independant contractor" athletes competing every day who are subject to uniform restrictions. Some (As I pointed out with the example of a cycling team) far more dramatic than the reebok deal.

The 23 fight MW GOAT got a pay raise by Heebok just before his fight with Daniel Cormier, bumping his sponsorship pay from 15k, to a whopping 20k. To put in perspective, the former champ debuted back in 2006, winning the title in his sophomore bout, and has been fighting for 13 years for the UFC. 13 years of sacrifice and he finally made it to the final tier of 20k, just two fights prior to his fight with Israel Adesanya. He and Rani Yahya are getting paid the same in terms of sponsor.

Israel Adesanya: $4,000

def. Anderson Silva: $20,000

Lando Vannata: $5,000

def. Marcos Mariano: $3,500

Ricky Simon: $3,500

def. Rani Yahya: $20,000

Montana De La Rosa: $3,500

def. Nadia Kassem: $3,500

Jim Crute: $3,500

def. Sam Alvey: $15,000

Devonte Smith: $3,500

def. Dong Hyun Ma: $5,000

Shane Young: $3,500

def. Austin Arnett: $4,000

Kai Kara-France: $3,500

def. Raulian Paiva: $3,500

Kyung Ho Kang: $5,000

def. Teruto Ishihara: $5,000

Jalin Turner: $3,500

def. Callan Potter: $3,500

Jonathan Martinez: $3,500

def. Wuliji Buren: $3,500

He got only FOUR GRAND for beating SILVA?

We can agree wholeheartedly that the old trunks looked terrible lol im not mad to see then go at all. Only disagreement we have is on their compensation.

Guys you didnt add up the super backroom bonuses that actually means hes a billionaire. Anderson is fighting at the age of 43 because he LOVES the sport not because hes a broke ass ******. Fighters arent underpaid at all stop posting THIS UFC is always RIGHT

How much longer does this Reebok shit last ?
