Give him cans and older fighters. Although, I do think Wonderman would do much of the same that Garry did, minus the wrestling.

Yeah. That is my opinion too.

I think Prates is a top 5 material in WW for the future.

-He showed an amazing TDD. Stuffed 15 attemps from Garry and was able to get up really quicky when fell.
-Great defensive BJJ. The reversal in the fifth was beautiful.
-He has a great chin
-He is really a nightmare for every fighter in that division because he maintains his knockout power for 5 rounds!

I just think stylistically Garry has the right weapons to fight Prates:

-High IQ
-Takedown threat
-Great cardio to circle and keep the distance for 5 rounds
-Distance management
-Kicks to keep the distance
-Great boxing skills
-Good BJJ

If he smokes weed before a fight, he can no longer feel pain. It's a proven technique. Ask the commission that declared Nick Diaz win over Gomi a no contest.
 
Pretty much the same, a very talented fighter with great potential. MMA is not boxing in which you pretty much done after your first loss, he still can be a champion some day
 
Not much will change he's still really good and beats most of the division. I like the Wonderboy fight idea.
 
Wonder boy or battle would be good without taking too much of a step back

Yeah man. I saw the call out for a striking battle online. I assumed he was someone similar in rankings and saw that he wasn't even ranked. There are a heap of guys like Neal, Vincent etc that Wonderboy has wins over still ranked above him. When he fought Buckley he was ranked number 9. How do you go from 9 to unranked off a loss to 4 and 11?

He thought he was going to catch him at some point with his power and he nearly did.

Most people stay still and shell up when they are hurt and stand. Prates didn't account for the fact Ian will literally crawl across the cage and actively turn his back and run.

Credit to both. Ian threw enough out there that Prates had to respect it before he realised he should just walk through it.
Orates finally just went for it in the 5th and did what he could have been doing in the other rounds. Prates also showed he has good enough grappling to hang with the top 10 unlike MVP. More impressed by Prates overall in that fight, he needs to change less to be successful than I thought.

His previous wins were against the easiest cans ever given to a rising new guy in terms of style and size but he still needed an eye poke to get one of his 4 knockouts. Either Garry/Shevat are considered top 3 and Carlos is top 5 or they are average and Carlos needs to keep fighting cans. Gary acknowledged he was really good I think but that could of just been bullshit the winner thinks he needs to say. I am so glad he lost, idiots would of been shouting for him to fight Shevat after 4 of the easiest opponents I have ever seen given to a new muay thai guy

Well he passed the barrier to entry test in Magny for the top 15 and was linked to fights with Randy Brown and Geoff Neal. He also demolished Li Jianglang before that. Sure not top 5 worthy, but beating those 2 by KO is pretty respectable.

He was meant to be fighting Geoff Neal on this card, that's not an easy fight for Prates. The guy had 4 fights in 13 months, what are you complaining about? He progressed his way up to 13 with reasonable match ups and a variety of opponents finishing them all this 48-47 with Ian Garry. 4 easy opponents?
His opponents were 7-7, 3-1, 11-7,22-12. For a combined total of 43-27 in the UFC alone and a reasonable progression into top 15 fights. Especially when you are KOing them violently.

If he had beaten Garry he would have been deserving of high top 10. If he beat Neal he would have been ranked around 10. Don;t hate a fighter because of posters on Sherdog haha.
