And now, with Prates' first loss in the UFC, what is his situation?

Wonderboy was hanging well with Buckley and touching him up until he got Ko'd. I was about to say Wonderboy is ranked, but he isn't anymore.

Geoff Neal is probably a better choice.

WB still fighting? He booked? He must be 42 by now

The guy bombed a main event, but of course loses no ranking, so if my math is correct he is probably one fight away from a title shot.

Was disappointed in his contentment to lose, no scrambles, no attacks from the back, dabbing up every 2 minutes, destined for a mediocre career.

Be tactically more astute. He faced a fighter who was better prepared to neutralise his threat.

Feed Leon Edwards to him.
Maybe we'll finally get to see Edwards get knocked out.

Prates is #13 and just lost, he doesn't deserve to fight Edwards. Garry fighting Edwards makes way more sense, depends on if the UFC wants him to win 1 or 2 more fights to get a title shot.

I don't think he really lost anything with this loss. Short notice fight against a top ten guy. Rebook the Neal fight

He was overrated in the first place but he couldn't do anything against slightly above average Garry to make me think he'll ever defeat a good fighter.

Prates was 10 seconds of last minute cardio or heart to beat Garry. He lost for sure, but I don't think anyone thinks he can never beat Garry ever. That was a huge jump up in competition and he'll just have to slowly climb up now. He could still even be champ one day cigarettes or not

Probably 1-2 lower ranked fights and a rematch against Garry.

a year left in him.......before his Karate Combat career starts off
i would LOVE to see Wonderboy in Karate Combat
i get the feeling he'd do really well. shame it wasnt around 10 years ago; he would've run over everybody

Page (if he returns to the division)
Thompson
Neal (the original fight)
Luque
Covington

Those are all good matches for him.

- 1st time going 5 rounds, 1st big main event (not counting fight night)
- Age: 31 means 3-4 more years of prime at his weightclass -> will get better
- If he stops smoking, he can go to a pace, that would've lead to a win against Garry.
- Everybody would celebrate him now

Not a fan of him, but he could be a solid top5 guy, maybe title contender

Based on Prates' performance -- 3.5 Rounds at idle, and 1.5 Round on-the-throttle gas tank where he has Divisional KO/TKO power and form.

Disappointment: Prates was too gassed to lay on Ian Machado and throw fight ending strikes to close out the fight -- so his tank was empty.

So, where does the nerd put those 1.5 Rounds of effort?
