An idea to help solve fighter pay issues

I not disagreeing with you. You're 100% right. But it's disingenuous to say ufc fighters aren't allowed to have individual sponsors. They can 100% have individual sponsors but, they can't wear or promote their individual sponsors, they have to wear and promote the sponsors that have SIGNED EXCLUSIVE SPONSORSHIP DEALS WITH THE UFC DURING UFC EVENTS.

The exclusive deal has to mean something. And while the compensation isn't the best for some of the lower level fighters that can't attract their own sponsors it's literally a lifesaver getting an extra 2 or 5K while on a 12/12 contract.

Also during the pre Reebok days there was a lot less fighters on the UFC's roster meaning every fighter got more time to shine and name recognition than compared to today's UFC where the roster has at least tripled in size and a lot of personal sure interchangeable slot fillers.

But back to my main point look at these fighter social media pages. A lot of these guys are getting paid to promote something when it's not ufc related.

And if a sponsor refuses to sponsor you unless you can promote for them at UFC events then how marketable are you really? Sounds like they are trying to backdoor their way to promote through the ufc without dealing directly with the ufc.
The whole point of sponsoring an MMA fighter in the UFC is to take advantage of the UFC platform what you're saying is disingenuous because sponsors won't pay to sponsor Fighters for that 98.5% that you're talking about most of the time. You're making it out as if no longer allowing sponsors during televised events didn't impact their sponsorship money when it greatly did.

Before the Reebok deal almost every fighter had sponsors that paid them to advertise during UFC events very few Fighters had sponsors that paid them outside of that.

I don't think you know what you're talking about on this topic when the UFC used to allow fighters to have their sponsors during events they would get paid by the sponsors too.

Why is everyone here talking about fighter pay like they know anything about what fighters get paid? If you did know you wouldn't be talking about it here for the same reasons UFC fighters don't talk about what they actually make.

My solution to the fighter pay issue is UFC needs to pay everyone 1 billion dollars to step into a cage because I care more than you.

Tournaments are dead. No one making top fighter pay would participate. Usada, nsac, peds, you'd just get injuries and unsatisfying conclusion if it ever finished.

That era is dead and gone.
Sad but true.

Hold some single night elimination style tournaments, where everyone earns the same damn thing but profits increase throughout the subsequent rounds.
Examples!
Round one is $50,000 to the winners.
Round two is $100,000 to the winners.
Round three finals is $250,000 to the champ.
We would have a different perspective on those champs even if they lost in their divisions. We used to rank MMA fighters in their respective divisions taking these situations into account. Fight brackets could be determined at the weigh ins, that way nobody gets to plan ahead and everyone is on the same playing field.

MMA was EXTREMELY interesting when we used to do things similar to this...

Not sure how this is meant to fix fighter pay issues?

That said I think brackets are great, but not a solution to fighter pay. The only solution to fighter pay is more orgs being competitive with the UFC so that is the only way to drive pay up. Combat sports are just a market, no other solutions will fix pay IMO.
