American cops notch up another killing

Is it true that "testimony" comes from "testes" and that if you were caught lying yours got crushed? I heard that. I think I was also told that women couldn't testify because they had nothing to lose.

Not a murder.

Please learn what that word means before you spread propaganda.

this is a thinly veiled call out thread for you know who. not cool

and i dont think a cop will admit it, but i can guarantee they are taught to say they reached for a weapon, they lunged after me, they were weaving in traffic, etc every time they engage the public for no reason or if they overstep their bounds. its impossible to argue against since its the word of the cops vs the victim and the cop always gets the benefit of the doubt

Well, it's an accidental "killing", though I agree that "murder" carries a deeper denotation of intent, so I changed that in the thread title. I also don't like them saying he was "unarmed" simply because he didn't have a gun; originally he engaged officers with scissors at the store, and on the beach apparently he had a wooden baton. Otherwise, it's pertinent. There appears to be no communication via dispatch cross-PD, or otherwise this might have been avoided.

Of course, the simplest way it could have been avoided is if the guy didn't run. Obviously it wasn't the intent of the initial responders to counter his attempt to flee with deadly force, and that's where the confusion that ended his life began.

I understand why some might be confused why the Long Beach PD would fire on a man armed only with a baton who is sprinting towards the beach (and presumably away from the other police). That seems excessive, but then, I'm not certain what their protocol is to follow in that sort of engagement. This was clearly an unfortunate series of events.

I wad taught something similar to that in the military. make sure you kill anyone you shoot, so they cannot tell their side of the story.

Directed at whom? nhbbear? Sorry, I've had a rare stretch of preoccupation, and haven't been as active on the forum this week. I don't think this is that significant in the realm of police corruption, but this forum is obsessed with American cops' abuse of power, even when they live in Thailand and it has virtually nothing to do with his life, but it's a legitimate story with a legitimate concern.

Let's not derail, and just focus on the story as it develops, and the details that emerge.

Not just American cops, but Southern California cops. Let's just say what everyone knows will happen.

- Cops found lying, put on probation.

- BIG INVESTIGATION will follow.

- A few months go by with these guys on paid leave.

- DA finds shooters acted within reason - not guilty - but apologized to the family.

This is why people love it when guys like Dorner go crazy, these fucks are begging for blowback because when it comes to America, the law is above the law and they paint themselves as heroes.

it was just a joke based on my last thread.

How hard is it to not run from police if they tell you to get on the ground then get on the fuckin ground.

true. and if you dont listen to a cops orders, you deserve to be killed. i always love this reasoning. dont listen to a cop, death penalty is justified

Murder = unlawful killing with mens rea (the intention to kill)

Are you saying this was lawful? And there can be no argument about the intent. Maybe you are the one who needs to learn a thing a two....

Im not saying it was justified but the whole situation could have been avoided if the perp just gave up and did what they told him to do police are actually nocer if you dont lie to them and listen to them. Even if yoir not a perp and being held up for something you didnt do dont argue or run from someone who most likely took the job to push people around just give up and sort the problem out.

Also there is a video of this online. I won't post it here as it is against the rules. You can watch and judge the situation for yourself.

Obviously it is not a wise decision to run from the police. I don't think anyone will argue that the guy was making smart decisions that day.

However, that doesn't excuse the actions of the police. This was cold blooded murder. He was unarmed and running away from the police down some stairs towards the beach. They shot him in the back.....He was not an immediate threat to anyone. Now after the fact they try to white wash the murder with the typical stuff like "oh he was reaching in his waistband", when surprise surprise, no weapon is recovered on his body.

Watch the video.

That's the part that pisses me off the most. Police always move the goal post AFTER they have been caught red-handed, so how can we take anything they have to say seriously? A cop guilty of a lie in a shooting incident should be jailed on the lie alone, then additionally sentenced for whatever the jury decides afterward.

Again all could have been avoided if he just stopped with his hands up I see the murder but he is just as dumb for running as the cop that pulled the trigger. Should have shot his leg imo.

video was taken down SHOCKER
