Food & Drink American bread

Ezekiel Bread and Daves Bread are two great mass-produced breads. Around me I have a ton of bakeries but even our supermarkets make great bread--Stew Leonards, Stop N Shop, Uncle Guiseppe's, Guinta's, all make decent bread.

If I lived in the US I would get a bread maker. Can't stand sugary sweet bread.

In comparison it doesn't last for weeks because it isn't shoved full of stabilisers. It also isn't sweet like most shop bought American bread.
Much like love, you never know how bread could be so nice until you get some of that good stuff.

American bread absolutely stinks compared to pretty much any bread in Europe. It was a world-shattering revelation when I finally had some over there. It is like comparing a BB gun to a rocket launcher

I don't think I've ever ate something that would quality as bread in my trips to the US.

The only store bought bread that I eat is Ezekiel bread

This is the ingredient list

Ingredients
Organic Sprouted Wheat, Filtered Water, Organic Sprouted Barley, Organic Sprouted Millet, Organic Malted Barley, Organic Sprouted Lentils, Organic Sprouted Soybeans, Organic Sprouted Spelt, Yeast, Organic Wheat Gluten, Sea Salt.

Other than that, it would be bread that my family makes or I make.

The rest of the store bought stuff has too many ingredients that I don't want to eat.
I'm no bread expert, but shouldnt it have butter?

It seems that Americans like to put more preservatives and additives in their food.

I remember seeing a video of a comparison of a UK and a US McDonalds meal, and the difference is quite staggering.

I think it's to do with EU laws.

One of my favorites..
It aint sweet or stuffed with sugar,

I don't have a local bakery here within an hour and a bit so I rely on supermarket mass produced crap. Looking at the ingredients on the Orroweat 12 Grains I buy it isn't too alarmist but I still can only manage half a sandwich at lunch or I'm wiped out for the afternoon. Time to get the bread machine out of the garage and start making my own again, I've also bought an electric bread knife from Amazon for $20 because I'm useless slicing a loaf.

Apologies for the Daily Fail and for anyone who hates Rogan.

Dave's Bread is one of the only quality breads you can get around where I live. They carry it at the Costco here. I love good bread and just make my own, I have a bread machine but never use it.

Bread is simple and cheap to make, get a bag of Red Star yeast from Costco and some flour and you are good to go. I switched to sourdough about five years ago and mostly just make that. It has some health benefits over regular bread. I hardly use conventional yeast anymore but even though I bought it seven years ago it still works fine - just gotta keep it in the fridge.

Almost all processed food in the US have terrible ingredients and I had trouble selecting stuff that was "clean" until one of my kids recommended the app Yuka. Just pull up the app, point your camera at the bar code of any product and Yuka gives you a score from 0-100 of how clean the ingredients are. It's fantastic if you are trying to eat clean.

My bakery has great fresh bread. Never had a single issue with bread here. Had bread all over i didtt notice a single difference in the bread I had un Italy and the bread I get at most Italian places.

Americans have a pretty shit bread game, I have to admit. I'm lucky enough to have a German bakery in my area, but the stuff they sell in US supermarkets is garbage.

Germans have the best bread imo. Deutschland über Alles!

when i was at cupping terrapist he asked me if i eat bread from store then he told me that american bread use ingreadiance that makes you gain weight and should use euro 00 style flour for more healthy bread

Yeah we have the mass produced stuff here but from the bakery it's way nicer but doesn't last long. And definitely not sweet like American bread, food from the US always seems to be too sweet for me no matter what it is.

This is the bread I like. Yeah it's white, but from the numerous breads I have label researched, this one is the best IMO:

And FC, how does American bread last months for you? If I am not eating any sandwiches, my bread will only last about 3 weeks or so.
