and I have very little interest in seeing pantoja vs merab, so take that for what it is worth

I get what you're saying, but this is pretty unique where Pantoja is 7-0 against the top 4 contenders at FLW (Moreno, Royval, Kape, KKF) and Merab has beat everybody with a valid claim at BW (Yan, Sean, Umar).

UFC should drop the men's bantam and flyweight divisions. They only need one division below lightweight; small men don't sell. Make Merab-Pajonta and Volk-Lopes. Winners fight each other for the unified featherweight title.

Absolutely. He is the most dominant champion in the UFC and is now lapping the division. He deserves a chance at double champion status more than anyone right now by far.
