Am i missing something?!?

Respect the decision. Most guys would hold up the division. Also fighting closer to natural weight is always a good thing.

50% purse fines to opponent for increased weights of more than 5 lbs at cage entrance on fight night.
So I weigh in twice? So fighters do two weight cuts? Yeah, that's death

Or he could like manage his weight and not cut so much everyone's acting like these people don't have control of their own body weight ..are people Force feeding these people I don't think so ...they're choosing to be the weight they are ..

That's what makes this excuse so soft he has every way to control his body weight and instead he's choosing to say I'm going to give up my belt and cheapen it for the next guy who wins and be disrespectful to my contenders because I don't feel like putting the work in to be champion anymore

What the actual fuck LOL? Tell everyone you don't understand human physiology and weight cutting without telling us.

You clearly don't understand things like bone density and body composition can vary even amongst people who "look the same size". Two people who appear similar in size may have VASTLY different experiences in trying to make a certain weight. When I would cut to make weight for the >200 lb division in grappling tourneys it was BRUTAL. I was a pretty lean 6'2" but carried some muscle. We had other guys at my gym that were about my size who made the weight easily. Barely even needed to dehydrate themselves.

It's not necessarily about "doesn't want to put in the work". Sometimes your body just doesn't respond how you expect it to or want it to. Where even if you make weight, you feel like shit. I'd rather have a guy realize that and move up than stay put and end up missing weight and sending the division into chaos, or fighting compromised and losing because of it.

I respect him for not holding up the division but I also wonder about his discipline because he's billed at 5'7" but is probably at least an inch shorter and not super muscular. I don't see why he can't stay at FW with proper diet and nutrition.

Yes I know he was a LW.

Where are two weight cuts being performed?

The idea here is to eliminate all weight cutting if possible, or guys would simply be fighting like emaciated McGregors and getting flatlined by the first jab they take.

It's an easy fix, people are just too useless to make it happen.

Does anyone really believe Ilia? Cutting weight sucks, but did he really cut that much? He wasn’t exactly a huge FW.
