Alternative Pyramid Theories

Yes, people are stupid. And you are one of them, if you truly believe that there's no intellectual basis for this discussion.

Aliens or Atlantis people am I right? Have you even academically researched this topic? Almost all the shit posted in this thread is pseudoscience or just plain false.

People think watching the Joe Rogan Experience is a substitute to going to University these days.

Two reasons.

One, the closer you get to the equator, the easier it is to determine a true north. The further north you go, the more difficult it is to determine how much off of magnetic north you are due to the degree of declination. Furthermore, there is less precision in determining the angle because the distance between the arcs is closer together, while your measuring instruments retain the same resolution.

The second reason is related to the first. Large objects and points are much, MUCH easier to align in more perfect geometry, in better alignment than small objects. If I have two ropes and three posts, I have line segments AB and BC. B is the junction. Let's say BC is off angle from AB by 1 degree.

The two ropes are a meter long each. Can you detect that 1 degree by eye balling? You probably can't.

OTOH, let's say those line segments were each a hundred meters long. Could you detect it by eyeballing? EVERY, SINGLE. TIME. Because at 1 degree off center by 100 meters, there is a significant deviance in where post C is by actual distance.

All over the world, builders who have no idea what geometry is will know how to make right angles out of a length of rope. (I'm going to leave it to you to ponder how without looking up.) The longer the rope, the close to true 90 you can make a structure. Think about it.

As for why pyramid shaped? I'm going to let you think about why anyone who has actually built shit why it's better to have wider base than a top for any free standing structure. (Seriously? You dumb motherfuckers can't look at a sand castle or an hourglass and intuit why a pyramid shape is best? I honestly can't believe in this day and age that we have humans that can read and write and have access to the collective sum totality of human knowledge at their fingertips can't figure this out for themselves.

Here's a hint. How many square/cube fucking mountains have you seen?
Thanks for the math lesson dough belly, I'm not sure if you're denegrating the achievement of aligning the pyramid by suggesting it's simple math or what, but my contention has never been that it took some sort of outlandish technology to accomplish, but it certainly isn't a coincidence of precision regarding the totality of that "obvious and easy pyramid shape" that "dumb motherfuckers" keep harping on ignoring everything extraordinary about Cheops at Giza as if anyone has any relationship in our world today to the mind of a people who would even attempt something so time consuming, difficult and expensive.

The tomb theory is stupid and so are the people who continue the make believe about it being correct, which you didn't address specifically but speaks to your general tone that there is some sort of ordinary lack of mystery to the construction itself..."it's just math" after all.

Pyramid shaped architecture across the planet probably has many reasons and very simple ones depending on where you go, stability being one of them. If they built the great pyramid in 20 years from planning to facade completion bottom line is that they 100% did something we could not due today under real world funding and logistical standards for creating such a building even with all our modern technology. Of course they 100% did not cut, quarry and build it in 20 years (likely hundreds realistically, in stages) which is the entire crux and exemplifies my general point that the entire orthodox timeline, reconstruction of events and predynastic understanding is Swiss cheese as fuck at best, and antiquated horrible guessing at worst.

I recall others talks we've had in the past and I don't think we're going to see eye to eye here either just as we don't with the stuff at Baalbek. I appreciate your responses though, I think your general building experience is a good thing but largely irrelevant to the totality of drawing conclusions based on Occam's razor, which I think is your contention regardless of architectural oddities...That we know the Romans occupies the temple of Jupiter, thus they had to have built the platform it sits on, we know that Seti the first' temple at Abydos was buildt at a particular time thus the Oserion must be by the same dudes at the same time despite a chasm in architectural acumen between the structures themselves...

Joe Rogan isn't someone coming up with these ideas. Professionals are. It's not pseudoscience to suggest the Sphinx, for example, is thousands of years older than the pyramids proper... It's actual geology, a real science if you'll recall from your University studies based on evidence, which happens to disagree with Egyptologists viewpoint on the matter, who in specificity do not practice an actual science.

The main reason that the pyramids were built where they are is because the universe is tied solely and loose-based off of the old metaphors of the past and when the time is right, they point right to their makers. Just do the math and you will find that the pyramids and Polaris (the north star) are closely yet tightly based on the fact that the system in which Polaris accompanies the existence of a race of species that were outed from their mainland and came to Earth for exploration and learning.

We built the pyramids with them in mind.

It's easy to post memes and make rediculous claims. It's hard to bring hard evidence to the discussion. Might be why despite all that mashing on the keyboard, you've yet to say a single thing that makes sense.

These jackasses don't get that. They think it took hundreds of years and they had magical technology lost to time. @andnowweknow is what I call an asshat. No legitimate and respected archaeologists think what he does. He's just attracted to the nuts because they have the same whackjob ideas as him.

These people have a poor understanding of history and never went to Univeristy. And it's not like th Giza pyramids were their first attempt, they spent hundreds of years perfecting pyramids and the early step pyramids look like shit (or did aliens purposely build shit pyramids as a joke?).

There is absolutely no intellectual basis for this discussion yet this topic thrives. People are stupid.

Of course. The people who actually dedicated their lives to the authentic study of these structures aren't saying crazy shit. Because they understand how capable the society was at building these structures.

@Agent Mulder's Hair and @andnowweknow are both clowns who have a giant attitude. They should be on a Conspiracy site when they aren't flipping burgers at work.

I really hope you don't talk to people like this in real life. I'm not sure why dissenting views bother you so much, especially when you clearly don't have a grasp on the subject matter (or you're just being mysterious and you're so far beyond my understanding of ancient Egypt that you've totally skipped the part about being specific as to why I'm wrong).

Stop being such a jerk to people, ancient history is murky water by nature.

Another @Doughbelly and @jgarner rabid follower...You guys are making headway.

Ancient history isn't that murky. I don't talk to complete retards in real life. If someone expressed an opinion that fucking stupid while I was around, I would never talk to them again and I would tell everyone we mutually knew what stupid shit they said. The only reason you're so bold with these stupid opinions of yours is the anonymity internet provides. If you had to put your face card on that shit, I'll be you wouldn't be so ridiculous because you know it's embarrass to actually believe what you're suggesting. When you start talking, I realize I know more about the subject matter than you.

And yeah, it's so incredibly dumb for us to use math and science. What type of idiot am I for using math and science?

I'm sorry you had to get lumped in with my burger flipping, if he had known your were on dish detail he probably wouldn't have been so presumptive. Hey, history is murky...So is dishwater. Coincidence? Doubt it though good luck trying to convince engineering extraordinaire Sr. Garner of the synchronicity of that.

Be honest, this engineering degree you espouse...You're a junior year community college guy, which is a great way to get where you want to go if you're super poor so I laud your industry. Future degrees you might want don't count.

I just don't think it's fruitful to lie. Maybe I'm wrong...Doubt it, but maybe.

Wow doughbelly and jgarner really don't like having their world view challenged. There's evidence all over the world that shows there was a group of people that had better technology than primitive man and their societies.

So have you finally understood he's not talking about aliens 500 posts later?

--"The pyramids are far too advanced and large to be built in 20 years."

"I have an engineering degree you stupid fuck it wasn't aliens! "

--"I didn't say it was. But there is no evidence it was a tomb and the scale of the project means with simple logic and looking at logistics we can tell this is a MASSIVE undertaking that couldn't have been done in 20 years and the story of these people building the pyramid right out the stone age doesn't seem to make sense. "

"You dumb fuck Alien lover! !!!"

Of course I'd go out of my way to lie on the internet and maintain that exact lie over the entire period of time I've been there. I'm 29 years old, way too old to be in community college brother. I work for a company that does hotel and resort construction. I don't need to lie to people who believe in magic and forgotten ancient tech. You bitches are insane enough to let a highschooler own you.

Wow doughbelly and jgarner really don't like having their world view challenged. There's evidence all over the world that shows there was a group of people that had better technology than primitive man and their societies.

No, there isn't. There is no forgotten magical tech. Our line of technology is pretty consistent. I'm happy to have my worldview challenged. Just bring evidence if you want to challenge the findings of every respected scientist in the field, otherwise what do you expect?

You don't sound like someone people would want to hang around.

If you're the type of person to agree with them, I wouldn't give you the time of day to hang out. I'd let you slide back into the parent's basement.

So have you finally understood he's not talking about aliens 500 posts later?

Yeah it wasn't aliens. He just thinks they had amazing technology that's better than today's technology that was somehow lost to history. Equally as insane as aliens.

Why is the concept of losing knowledge over time so hard for you to believe? It happens all the time. If you found a Marconi machine, would you know how to operate it? Would you even know what it was? Or even more recently, would kids today know what to do if they had a cassette tape and it unspooled? Would they know to stick a pencil in it and rewind it? I've even heard cursive handwriting is not being taught at schools anymore. So that will eventually be something that's lost to the past. Losing knowledge over time happens quite a lot.

You literally just made that up...In 500 more posts you'll come to the conclusion I don't believe that either.

Are you suggesting that mainstream academia does not take into account geological evidence? Some of the leading theories that date the Sphinx to around 2500 BC were created by geologists.

People here are talking about the Orion correlation theory as if it is something significant, of course most of the posts here are stupid.

Of course knowledge is lost in time. Three famous examples are Greek fire, the knowledge to build aqueducts (in Western Europe) and Damascus steel. No one disputes that. However, the theory that the Ancient Egyptians had some sort of super technology (that for some reason people assume is superior to modern tech) is absurd. The Pyramids are not rocket science, and the biggest hurdle to building them is money and man power (something the Egyptians had plenty of). There are plenty of theories as to how the Egyptians built them with their own technology, but the reason we cannot prove either of these beyond reasonable doubt is because we do not have any primary sources confirming one of these theories. Unless we do find one, then we will never know (and NOT because we can't figure out how it was feasible to them, we know they had the technology).

The theory is retarded on so many levels. For example, how come they only developed super technology to create giant ceremonial buildings with no purpose? Were is the evidence of advanced weapons or other aspects of their society?

Yes there is look at all the megalithic sites around the world that have similar precision stone work that was obliterated and strewn all around (most of these sites are completely missing considering the size of the fragments and walls) and then later built upon by primitive man. Primitive man did not recreate that stone work. We can do it now but back then those people built on the ruins or tried their best to recreate it.

If you're the type of person to agree with them, I wouldn't give you the time of day to hang out. I'd let you slide back into the parent's basement.

I have a broken hand so I can't do much at the moment except deal with douche bags/post on sherdog but even if I could do stuff I wouldn't want to do anything with you. I think conversations with you would be dull and I could see you getting all whiny about everything.
