All Time GOAT poll

Those metrics are largely irrelevant when you consider the people he fought. Stipe fought better competition and it really isn’t that close. Time has passed.

Not to mention stipe KO’d a better version of a fighter who beat fedor in his prime. Even the head to head comparisons, stipe’s wins were far more one sided and devastating.
Well…we all have our opinions and favorite fighters, so to each their own I guess. It won’t surprise you probably to know that I totally disagree. I rank Stipe as the #2 HW all time, but honestly I question that the more that time passes as I don’t think his resume has aged all that well at all.

He fought Arlovski 7 years after Fedor did, and Hunt 9 years after Fedor did. He’s got the 2016 version of Overeem. He initially fought a version of JDS that was declining but still somewhat close to prime, and couldn’t beat him; it was finally the 2017 version that he beat. I don’t want to shit too much on Werdum as he was champ, but again fought him 6 years after Fedor did when Werdum was 37. Cormier fights are fine I suppose as both guys were close to 40 years old; definitely not a case of beating prime Cormier, but even playing field as both were past their best.
Eh. Fedor has a better resume than Miocic to me by a good margin.

Kind of hard to argue for him not being the goat..

Fair arguments for gsp and fedor as well..

At that level their accomplishments are so many that singling out the goat comes down to preference..

if Jones beats Stipe he has a good case for being the GOAT across all weight classes. the steroids are always going to be a dark blotch on Jones' name and record. not to mention the legal troubles.
if Stipe beats Jones he is on lock for best HW of all time. the Jones victory would elevate Stipe above Fedor in my eyes.

Only problem with that statement is that he’s been the GOAT for quite sometime now.

Let the naysayers grumble. He has to be somebody villain

It's close, but if he also beats Ngannou or Pavlovich than I'd say yes.

If he losses it will hurt his legacy more than he will gain by winning.

Steroids are too powerful of a drug

And losing to Reyes, journeyman Gus and 1-legged santos is not impressive at all...
He beat some old MWs tho Machida, Rampage Rashad etc

WTF is this? Jon is already the GOAT, he was actually already the GOAT even before he'd win the HW title, and it showed with his last fight actually, even if he wouldn't have won the belt, but ever since he broke the record of most wins in UFC title fights history, he was already the GOAT, he was a GOAT in his sport even before Messi would be the GOAT of Football when he cemented it in late 2022, and it showed with his last fight, that he was already the GOAT, he was just out there proving it again and again.
Edit: reason why I think that and I say that Jon is already the GOAT cause when you look at it, people will say Messi and Jon became GOATs when they beat their last competition and their final highlight were French athletes, well when the French fans think about it like this, it just breaks their hearts, so I wouldn't say Gane was the last highlight reel Jon needed to be the GOAT, he was already the GOAT, he just proved it again and again with that fight, so Jon already cemented his GOAT status after breaking the record of most wins in UFC title fights history against Reyes, his final highlight reel was against a fellow American like him, also Jon is gonna prove it again and again when he beats a Croatian, Messi also before he'd beat France along with his country Argentina, the last country before France was Croatia, but the question is: will Stipe miraculously beat Jon, or he will be another highlight reel? we'll find out, Stipe's chances of winning is pretty much Zero% but anything can happen.

This is just hateraide. Jones has the best resume in MMA and it’s really not that close.

Jones is already the GOAT. Too late in his career to pass Fedor as the best HW ever.

The GOAT for me is someone that in any given day of his prime would beat any given fighter in his prime

Would this HW Jon Jones beat a prime Dos Santos / Cain Velasquez / Fedor / Cro Cop / Stipe / Brock Lesnar / Ubereem / Ngannou?

Well good luck Jon. And I don't think so.

Talking about LWH he's the undesputed GOAT without any debate.

Are we going to pretend like Fëdor was clean?
But I guess it was PRIDE so everyone was on something just to level the field.

Jones did not fight the best contenders at the time.

Avoided Cain, Ngannou, Ubereem, what are you talking about?

No way. Stipe was brave enough to go up against Ngannou, and actually beat him.
Two fights in HW can't make someone the GOAT of that division.

I think it’s definitely close. I think you can split hairs trying to argue whether the best resume belongs to Jones, Fedor, or GSP. 2 of those fighters have never popped for PEDs/banned substances, and the other has popped multiple times. So for me, Jones is #3 and that’s where he’ll stay.
