I said consecutive title defenses (GSP had 9, Jones had 8). WW is historically better than LHW because there are a lot more WW competitors than LHWs. It's simply more competitive and stacked. Look at the win streak of Jones' opponents and compare them to GSP's during their title reign.

And the only reason for that is because Jones got stripped for his title. Other wise GSP would not have more consecutive title defenses.

And if its 9 vs 8 that isn't even worth mentioning.

WW was stacked but not more stacked than LHW when Jones started.

I'll give one example. Jones beat 4 former champs in one year. GSP has done nothing even close to that.

That's how stacked LHW was when Jones was fighting. LHW was full of Champions and killers.

For every opponent you can name for GSP I can name one for Jones.
 
Beating Stipe doesn't really move him. He's already one of the GOATs, and it'll hold his place, but who the hell is going to be wowed by him beating a 41 year old coming off a KO loss and 3 year layoff?

GSP, DJ, Khabib, Volk, and Israel are the only five I put into a serious GOAT discussion, giving GSP the edge, but the other 4 still have time to overtake him.

Jones has been fighting top competition pretty much his entire career.

Half of Fedor's resume are C and D level fighters.

On what planet did Jones just start fighting the best competition? Then you refer to the Heavyweights LMAO.

Heavyweight is the weakest division and always has been.

The skill gap between LHW and HW when Jones started fighting is so big its not even funny.

I guess you are too impressed with one dimensional Pavlovich beating one dimensional Curtis Blaydes, just because they are Heavyweights. And you call that top competition? Please.

If weight classes mattered as much as you pretend then Fedor would not have gotten KO'ed by an old middleweight two weight classes below him.

Bob Sapp is 350 plus pounds. If he fought Jones who do you think is going to win?

Yea there are weight classes for a reason but that does not guarantee the bigger person will win either.

And that's great but Belfort wasn't even ranked at light heavyweight when they fought, Machida only had a 1-win streak, Rashad 4 and Rampage 2. Shields and Fitch were not former champions but had better win streaks when they faced GSP.
