But why????? I never understood this logic.If Anderson Silva would’ve retired before Weidman he would be up there too. Same with Fedor, if he retired before Werdum he would be the GOAT.
So quitting the sport young and going out on top should be more respected than a warrior who continues to fight and take risks?
Anderson and Fedor did not have their accomplishments erased when their title reigns finally came to an end. Anderson and Fedor continued to fight past advanced age and advanced mileage. It wouldn't make them any higher ranked if they quit the sport sooner at 32 like GSP and Khabib did. I respect them for continuing to take risks
