All Time GOAT poll

GSP was pushing hard for USADA style testing to come into the picture bud. Dana and hendricks were avoiding it like the plague. GSP eventually agreed to do multiple testing if hendricks would and hendricks bowed out
It was Hendricks that accused GSP, then GSP said fine let's do 3rd party testing, then offered to foot his bill.

Then Hendricks said " No I don't want to do VADA I want WADA like they do in the olympics, GSP is hiding something because he doesn't want to do Olympic style testing."

Then GSP had to explain to Hendricks that VADA is a accredited WADA organization that only takes the samples and sends them to WADA to test.

Then Hendricks said that VADA has a picture as GSP on the website as one of the athletes they test, that it's too shady. He wants to go with NSAC OOC testing, GSP said "ok let's do it", which basically made hendrick stutter "wwwwwhat? you will do it?".

GSP was unaware of NSAC's OOC testing protocol, and had his lawyer send Keizer questions to inquire about it, while saying no matter what it is GSP has agreed to do it. Ehrhardt then played word games about "GSP wanting times and knowing what they are testing for". GSp's lawyer said they wanted to make sure there were no loopholes and since WADA would not inform him on certain info, that means they will not inform hendricks either and so GSP agreed to do both testing.

Ehrhardt, Hendricks Agent then said GSP wasn't serious about it, and it was at this point when GSP happily agreed to both testing that Hendricks bailed and refused that as well as any other additional testing, even though GSP said he can chose whatever 3rd party testing and GSP will foot the bill.

While GSP still went through 3rd party testing by VADA. He cut right through their word acrobatics by just agreeing to do both tests and Hendricks went silent and bailed at that point. Hendricks was trying to put on a nice face and make it seem like GSP wouldn't do it and GSP's quick agree to do both tests basically cut off their ability to do more spins on it, so they just said "this is all too shady" and went dead silent on the issue.

None of this is speculation. It is documented fact.

GSP won the decision against Hendricks and decided to step away from the sport in 2013

GSP long was a spokesperson demanding stricter testing and volunteering for stricter testing and Dana kept telling him to fuck off. GSP implied 90% of the roster was using PED's and that he was one of the few not using. GSP then took a break saying the next day in an interview he would only come back if the UFC started and maintained stricter testing. A year and a half after GSP took a break, they implemented USADA in 2015. And then they kept doing it. At this point with USADA testing nonstop, hendricks turned into a fat guy who could not make 185, let alone 170 and his KO power all disappeared, and that was pretty revealing. True to his word, GSP came back(and won a title at a higher weightclass)

I agree with you that GSP was probably clean and you provide a good detailed breakdown to back that up. I disagree that he came back to fight Bisping because he was "true to his word". Let's face it, he cherry picked an easy way (Bisping) to pad his resume and enhance his legacy then retired right after. His word was "I would defend the belt"...which he did not keep.

Substance Abuse is gonna start touching the goat threads with the jab, and then hit them with the picture perfect right straight.

Without even speaking about Jon Jones : do you see let's say Blaydes losing against an old MW ?

The OP is acting like if Fedor was in competition with Jones while a prime Dan Henderson would be already brutalized in the current HW roster <36>

How could the UFC heavyweight div be so weak that Stipe is the best HW of alltime?

Not counting HW that never came to UFC, i would still say Arlovski had a better run and maybe even mere.

Jone jones will walk thru stipe.

Indeed.

You’re right. He should’ve fought in the UFC and gotten flatlined by Cain Velasquez, Junior Dos Santos, and Ubereem. I mean Dan Henderson’s ghost put him out so he should be fine.

Overeem???

LMAO!

Prime Cain, JDS, Chris Barnett, and DC would’ve been catastrophic matchups for Bones. Gane isn’t a complete fighter.

None of those guys besides DC had a "Prime" and Jones dominated him. Stipe can't grapple with jones and can't outstrike him. The division just sucks.

This is the point most Pride diehard fans try to ignore. I loved watching Pride but even I knew that their matchmaking was geared towards making a lot of one sided fights to draw in the sideshow crowd. Crocop winning Pride's Open weight GP and then losing to mid-level HWs in the UFC pretty much said it all.

Overeem that KOd Brett Rogers, Todd Duffee, and Kazuyuki Fujita? Yes.

Come on, man...

I love Overeem, but the guy folded like a pack of cards under the kind of pressure Fedor would have put on him.

Nowhere near GOAT material, even if his Ubereem phase was fun as hell.

He was out of his prime bro! They all just conveniently left their prime immediately after moving to the UFC! Somehow they were the greatest in the world during 2007 Pride Final Elimination Global Paradox Grand Prix Superstar Tournament but not the UFC.

Jones wins and now HW is shit lol..

Maybe i dunno..

Crazy thought..

But maybe just maybe Jones is simply that good..

The guy was world champion at 23 and never lost after that...

That's Tyson/Mayweather type shit...it really shouldn't of been such a surprise for everyone.
.

If u actually knew what u were watching ofcourse...the experience of Jones is all he'd ever need to beat a guy like Gane... Gane thought he was safe but didn't respect Jones craftiness and got tapped...

No they would beat him because I just said they would.

In my opinion, last night Jon Jones cemented his position as the Greatest Of All Time UFC fighter.

There's no question for me.

He surpasses Georges St Pierre and Anderson Silva, the only other names in the frame.

He does so because, unlike GSP, he never dropped a clanger against a Matt Serra-type, even though it's likely that all great fighters will lose at some point or another. While Anderson is still up there in terms of his sheer dominance for such a long period against all comers at 185, he also falls short having never moved up to LHW and claimed the belt there (though he did win multiple fights at 205).

What Jon Jones has done in the UFC is entirely unmatched.

However, that doesn't put him ahead of Fedor.

Fedor's run through the heavyweight division in PRIDE (and elsewhere) prior to his defeat against Werdum at 31-1 is unmatched by anyone - except Jon Jones.

Jones now draws alongside Fedor, and you'd have to toss a coin to decide who is on top. Jones has more time, and is perhaps more likely to exceed Fedor's accomplishments in MMA, but here's the thing:

If Dana had signed Fedor in 2007, when he was still winning fights against both good (Sylvia/Arlovski) and poor (Choi/Rogers) fighters, and put him up against the best the UFC had to offer (including, eventually, Lesnar), there wouldn't be a debate at this point.

The only reason there is a credible debate about the #1 GOAT in the history of MMA (not only the UFC) is because Dana failed to sign Fedor.
I've never been a big Jones fan but after last night he is definitely the GOAT
